Absolutely especially with his response to Covid and spending all that money on that temporary hospital in New Orleans that saw what like 20 patients

The governor before him was historically bad. We just have short-term memories.

You are correct. That ahole was so bad that JBE was able to get elected simply by publicly opposing him in the Louisiana House for the last year or two of his term.

Bro, out governors have been so bad historically that JBE might be in the top 5 best. That’s not a compliment to him, but an indictment of how terrible our leaders have been historically.

I’m gonna be a maverick here and take it in another direction. Basically just to say I did like Foster. Went to law school with him. Most days he took his motor scooter to class. State Police security detail be like “O guess we just follow him in the cruisers??” Which was a yes.

Pulled that HOG right up to the back door and said deal wit it. He personally thought being legally required to wear a helmet was bitch shite, he wanted the crisp air rolling in over The Bluffs to flow through his bald head. Anyhow, said this whole helmet thing is bullshite, so he “fostered” a bill throughout the process removing the legal requirement.

Wore a literal Members Only jacket often.

To some of this it depends on where you live in the state and who represents you. It helps when the state House number 2 position is in a neighboring district as is the state budget and finance committee chairman to get your projects moving.

Yes most roads are crumbling, but in my area, 2 large projects that were on the drawing boards for years finally got moving. The next phase of the LA 1 bridge, and the airport connector road and bridge. Both projects seemed to be in the doldrums, but some federal money helped out and got the project moving. Another project in Terrebonne a new bridge over the Company Canal got moving too despite being needed to be done years ago.

Also, hundreds of millions of dollars in state funding mainly due to the BP Spill fine money and Federal OCS revenue sharing that went to levee projects and barrier island restoration.

Also, several millions have been dedicated to recreational facilities such as the Bayou Country sports park.

So, yes it depends on where you live to see there the state money is spent.

Hard to believe but there were posters on this very board who proclaimed themselves as “Republicans for JBE”

JBE is the only LA governor to veto a bill that would stop the mutilation and abuse of children.

Yeah, but you have to remember that it’s the kind of people living in a state that make it what it is. That’s the truth.

I would say he is about run of the mill as far as Louisiana Governors go. That means he absolutely sucks, but there have been worse even in recent times. It just goes to show you how bad our leadership has been.

People in the State probably don't know half, at best, of all the corruption that EWE & his cronies were involved in. If there was a nickel of State money out there, EWE wanted, and got, his share of it. What finally landed him in the Federal pen was in his final term, after all his old, long term loyal cronies were either in jail or had died, he surrounded himself with a bunch of even more corrupt losers. Who turned on him. What's really sad is the fact that this State voted him into office for 2 terms.
