While you won’t get 100% defection I think you would get enough that the military would be too busy fighting its own for control of bases and hardware to be killing civvies.

I have no doubt that many a soldier would relish shooting Americans in the fields and streets and would do just that once given the orders. But I also have no doubt that many would refuse to murder their countrymen and women, even if they were ordered to do so.

Agreed, however Milley is Trumps guy. At what point do we admit that while Trump had his heart in the right place, utterly sucked when it came to accomplishing goals.

There is a scene in Moneyball, where Billy Bean (Brad Pitt's character) is sitting in a meeting with a bunch of scouts and his GM staff for the Oakland A's. The scouts keep raving about certain players (the ball really pops off his bat, he just looks like a ball player, etc). Billy simply says, "yea, but why doesn't he hit good?".

Its a start to talk the right way, but eventually getting things done needs to matter to.
