I don't think we intentionally lied. I think we've judged them prematurely.
Obviously their capabilities are limited, but they are still a danger.
When you cut the head off a snake, that doesn't mean it can't still bite.
ETA: I see Mid Iowa Tiger beat me to that analogy by a mile.

The launch would have been detected by a satellite, right?
Could be a mobile launcher.
No telling what China, Russia or NK has sold them.

We're being told that their military is defeated. How is it that they're able to keep firing off these missiles?
You ever considered that the US military is baiting the hold-outs? Finding out where they are...
Quit listening to these idiot talking heads on MS-NOW. the cackling hags on the Spew...
Centcom and the CINC is privy to tons of intel that 99.99% of us and the left-wing propaganda machines on DU garbage can, reddit, ms-now, the spew...have NO IDEA what they are talking about other than 'Drumfp'
BTW, my bet is that the US military was on top of it even BEFORE the enemy pressed the launch button.
Never fear though, AEGIS is on the job:

I liken it to my boat being faster cruising with a 20mph tailwind, and slower cruising into a 20mph headwind. I burn less fuel and have greater range if cruising with a tailwind.

To get range with a ballistic missile, you drop weight.
Where do you drop weight on a ballistic missile?
Warhead.
This was for show.

Well. The rate of fire of their missiles and drones has increased over the past few days, and the Strait of Hormuz is still effectively closed. It’s not like we’re just mopping up a few remaining resources right now.

Diego Garcia looks to be almost due south of Iran. Why all the talk about east and west?

More reason the totally destroy Iran and the evil leaders....they are no good!
Fund the effort and finish the job.

Should have let it hit since the UK was there and they are NATO
Plenty USA folks(some highly valuable ones at that) and equipment always present there.

Iran having IRBM’s and claiming to have 11 nukes worth of material isn’t a good reason?

We now have A10s and Apache's in Eye-Ran which means we have total air supremacy over there. We have assets on the ground that is providing recon and intel to CentCom and the Israeli's.
There is still resistance. You can bet the chicoms and rooskies are assisting them for the life of them. There is still work to be done no doubt.
The Strait of Hormuz is a work in progress. Its only been three weeks but this has to be one of the most brilliant military operations in centuries.
We pull off the objectives as outlined by the CiNC and the US military planners, this will change the direction of world power for centuries to come.

March 2026 is not the first time that missiles have been fired from Iran. They were firing missiles as recently as 2024.

I just went outside and fired my BB Gun at an Iranian base in Iran! It did not make it. But, I am very dangerous!
