Including a clause in the MOU that our allies have to stop fighting in Lebanon was fricking stupid. Israel and Hezbollah's fighting should be entirely separate if Iran wants to have serious talks (spoiler: they don't) but that would require us to actually negotiate from a position of power.

Iran is caught in a position where they need to make a deal because they cannot survive continuing to be bombed and denied the ability to sell any oil. But they also can't because their henchmen are religious nutjobs who will not stop their jihad. Their henchmen view any concessions made by the IRGC as a betrayal. Treason.
Idiotic people here on this board think Iran is flexing big might by "shutting down the strait", but the truth is that the US can wait this out a hell of a lot longer than they can, even if it is uncomfortable. Currently the IRGC is turning on itself.
