I have been told they "won" the war. Why don't they attack something?

I would find it funny if the US attacked Israel. Have nothing against Israel, but would be so unexpected and a hilarious troll.

And which people would that be? Some of y'all act like you think there is this ready made, America-loving opposition group, just ready to take over. It's mind boggling naivety.

If you've been following politics and history in that part of the world for longer than six months, you know what would happen next. Rival factions would end up fighting it out for control. And two things that they have in common is they hate Israel, and they hate us...especially after we just blew up a bunch of their shite and killed some of their relatives. They end up fighting it out using the leftover weapons and explosives that you just sent them. Then China, seeing an opportunity, picks a side and starts arming them. And yeah, at some point the winning faction starts playing with uranium again.

Some of us were alive when we armed the Afghans against the Soviets. After the Soviets left, Afghanistan turned into moderate, stable, America loving government, right?

Iran keeps having Hezbollah fire on Israel, then claims Israel is the problem, and half this board eats it up.

And they think there is this ready made, America loving, peace loving opposition group sitting there in Iran just waiting to take over if we will just send them a bunch of arms. And then they will take power and never pursue nukes and never again fund Hamas or Hezbollah, and everyone lives happily ever after. They're fricking morons.

Including a clause in the MOU that our allies have to stop fighting in Lebanon was fricking stupid

And why in the ever loving frick would any sovreign nation let themselves be bound by some "memorandum of understanding" that we signed with an adversary? Would we do that? Would we let, for example, the United States be bound by some agreement that Russia and Ukraine signed? Or be bound by some agreement that Russia and India sign? frick no.

Idiotic people here on this board think Iran is flexing big might by "shutting down the strait", but the truth is that the US can wait this out a hell of a lot longer than they can, even if it is uncomfortable.

What utter fricking stupidity. The US can wait it out a hell of a lot longer? What ever happened to this only lasting a few weeks? Some of you morons actually believed that shite. I'll tell you how long the U.S. can wait them out...until Americans end this at the ballot box. And that's about to happen. As much as I despise the Democrats, they are about to control both houses of Congress. Then this whole thing comes to a screeching halt.

It's the same old song with you. You post your moronic takes, and you get downvoted to oblivion.

Do yourself a favor, pal: try to find a couple of brain cells to rub together long enough to remember that old adage...if you think everyone around you is an a-hole, guess what..you're the a-hole.

This logic is irrefutable and causes even the most MAGA Trump, rational, supporters experience a cognitive dissonance that can only result in exasperation in the extreme and the conclusion that this ‘deal’ is bereft of any form of ‘art’.

Sorry, but this conclusion is the stuff of Occam’s Razor and not a heretical loss of MAGA purity.

Nuke Iran…

At some point, we’re going to have to realize that these savages only understand one thing, violence. And not just the Iranians, the entirety of the Middle East. We need to go Roman on them.

We already tried that and we lost.

Watching the diehard Trump people do mental gymnastics to convince themselves we won this war is pretty entertaining

Blockade and all troops are removed from the region. That’s called a retreat

Trump is trying to do his Crassus impression as we speak. I suppose he could go lead the army himself to really sell it but he is an old man.

I agree that the MoU won't last, but to be fair, nothing has been "cancelled." It has been postponed for now. They're saying it could still happen over the weekend. Basically they're on hold waiting to see what Iran is going to do. Iran hasn't cancelled either. They've said that they're reevaluating, but negotiations are still on and they're still wanting to abide the MoU.

You sure about that.

Closing the Straits again doesn’t sound like something a country wanting to abide by the MOU would do.

No we didn’t. We haven’t been to war full tilt since 1945.

Good. Now take Kharg and get us Iranian babes in bikinis

My coffee has not kicked in yet so I do not know if this a serious statement or sarcasm, but I am going to treat it like a serious statement. Even IF (big if) we took Kharg island we are not going to get Persian women in bikinis. The Iranian people are not as resilient as the Ukrainian people. They folded when the shooting started and I highly doubt that have the stomach to rise again. IMO the way to get rid of the IRGC now is to cause a power struggle in the IRGC leadership that eventually leads to fighting between the IRGC and the more moderate elements win. Of course that is just my opinion and I am no expert in the matter.
