Since you obviously haven't looked into it in detail, let me give you the short answer:

Because it can't be done.

Good! Now Trump needs to just ignore them and not even respond to their latest message. Turn up the blockade pressure, hit a power plant or two, blow up some bridges, etc. while they figure out their stalling is no longer an effective strategy. For every drone they launch, take out a bridge or rail junction or marshalling yard. And just for funsies, start blowing up their fleet of fast boats...one at a time.

You’re right I haven’t looked into it I detail because you know why? It’s not my job to. Trump fricked this up 10 ways from Sunday and everytime “a deal is getting done” something happens. All I know is this will send gas back up when it just started dropping a little and that’s not good.

Bet the Dem Party would pay to keep this going to impact the mid terms.

Are you actually blaming the Democrats for the situation Trump got us into in Iran? Your level of stupidity is astounding.

So much for gas prices going down. Prices will keep going up again, and we’ll quickly find ourselves in a recession just in time for midterms. We should’ve never f’ed around with Iran and instead focused on solving our many domestic problems.

Yes, they have "leverage", some would say.

Others would say they have the Democrats.

They’re on the way to bomb the giant railroad crossing arm blocking the strait as we speak.

Which is why we never should have started down this path. We cannot win these ME conflicts.

Trump is in a really bad spot.

He can leave and look weak and the Straits will be dominated by Iran for good.

He can bomb infrastructure and cause tremendous human suffering of civilians and still not stop those in charge or open the Strait.

He could commit to a ground war that will make the worst of Iraq feel like a picnic and at best take tacit control of a country that will then be in humanitarian crisis.

He could nuke them…but nuking someone to prevent them from getting nukes seems a touch disingenuous. Nuking Tehran probably still doesn’t open the Straits.

Now, with the pause, you have Iran being filled with Russian and Chineses weapons systems and intel.

Trump set off down a path of no return with no means of success.

It was an astonishingly stupid move.

There is no logical spin. Prior to war, Iran had nuclear dust buried. The Straits were open and gas was on the way down, as well as the costs of fertilizer and other global essentials. Now, farmers cannot afford to farm, food costs are going up, fuel costs up, straits are closed and controlled by Iran. There is no spin for anyone that’s not an absolutist Trumper. That’s not to mention that Netanyahu has been claiming Iran has been close to have a nuke since 1992. This is all about Israel wanting total control of the region. I think one of two things happened: Venezuela gave Trump a false sense of things; or he was blackmailed by Israel. You cannot make sense of it otherwise.

I have no facts to back this up….it’s only my opinion. But I don’t think Iran was ever about nuclear capability or regime change or both. I think it was about control of the oil supply and its infrastructure.

Trump sees a path to global power and personal wealth by controlling natural resources…particularly oil, gas, and rare earth minerals. Venezuela was easy….next on the table was the Middle East. He is already in bed with the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Canada as the 51st state and Greenland was another part of the plan to reap in their natural resources. He tried to make a deal with Ukraine by trading support with its war with Russia in exchange for its rare earth minerals. It’s no secret the Trump family is in the chip and crypto business now and needs rare earth minerals.

Trump has a high regard of himself thinking he can get anything he wants. He is seeing it’s not so easy.

While this is true, now that we've engaged we can't just walk away without securing a victory without taking a massive geopolitical hit. It wasn't the best idea to get started I agree, but we have to see it through now or else we look incredibly weak, we embolden Iran to become even worse in their support of terrorism and chasing a nuke, and signal to China and Russia that we won't engage in warfare if it means higher gas prices.

We'd essentially be saying to the world's bad actors that we don't have the stomach to see anything through anymore, throwing the entire balance of power across the world into a blender

I don’t think Trump is top of mind doing this for those reasons. I do think some around him, including his sons and people like Lindsey Graham, do think like that and probably play to his ego to convince him to do dumb stuff “for other reasons”.

The most simple answer is that Israel got to him in some way.

I wise man said "decimate them via nukes" about three weeks ago and he was ripped by a handful of moonbats at this very site.
