That’s part of it. The other part is veterans have seen first hand how bad Iran is relative to the rest of the region.
A small amount may be that even though it sucked, rotations through the ME were some of their best times. Nothing like being down range with your boys.

Probably because anyone who served anywhere close to my age very likely deployed at least once and actually knows we have basically been at war with Iran for 50 years and this is just someone finally recognizing that and ending it.

An long time email buddy who is a retired Marine enthusiastically supports the attack on Iran. He spent quite a bit of time in Iran and Lebanon back in the day both before and after the turmoil.
