That's a very silly thing to say.

The IRGC may last longer but, if the economy collapses, there may not be much for them to be controlling.
As soon as we leave, there will be. That's assuming regime change isn't one of the goals.
If it is one of the goals, they're the ones we have to fight (for longer, as you noted)

This statement makes no sense replying to :

You are just invested in our failure. Everything you respond is invested in the failure of this operation.

Again, no specific goals have been declared for "failure" to be possible.
Do you believe regime change is necessary to avoid failure?

The entire world and news media has been hyper focused on what happens to the rest of the world with the Strait of Hormuz closed, they forgot to mention that the entire Iranian/IRGC economy depends on it too.
I also think Pezeshkian is who the Trump admin has been talking to, but they've been intentionally muddying the waters to keep from revealing it

Pretty sure SFP feels like he has to post X number of times per day to keep from being banned, that's the only rational explanation for his HALF A MILLION posts on this board
Most other posters that continuously derail threads and make them about themselves get the axe pretty quickly, unless you bring clicks/views to the board in such numbers that it makes it disadvantageous to give you the boot
SFP is a fairly smart guy I assume, no doubt this is something he's realized. If y'all would stop engaging with him constantly and mentioning him in threads before he's even made an appearance it would go a long way to shutting him down and forcing him to actually work during his billable hours

This is one of the first times I have engaged with him.
I see no evidence to support your assumption.

The President has always been a figurehead. That is well known.
Not always. It was when the charasmatic Khomeini was alive. After he died power shifted to the civil government. But since Rafsanjani and, to a lesser extent, Khatami it has weakened and Khamanei and the IRGC have gained strength, until it was lights out for him. There were really three power centers in Iran, the elected officials, the Mullahs, and the IRGC. Now I guess it’s just the IRGC. If the IRGC is left in power they will have to clamp down like Cuba or North Korea to maintain control, because they will have zero legitimacy.

IRGC has always run the show. They've "removed" Presidents in Iran before. They don't kill them, they just basically say " The Supreme Leader thinks that you should go back to your old job"

I bet the NSA is the source of this call record. Hopefully it’s true and we continue to bomb the shite out of them.
Someone inside Iran is going to have to stand up to the IRGC. That’s the only true path to change.

People don't recognize why this is bad and it almost makes my head hurt.
Prior to the Japanese formal surrender during WWII, portions of the Japanese military, known as the Imperial Guard coincidentally, attempted a coup d'etat against the Emperor to prevent the Japanese surrender.
It seems like we are in a similar situation here with the military in control. This likely extends the bounds of human suffering that is acceptable unfortunately.
