That is not true. They raked them over the coals, especially Nancy.

If we had a truly honest in-person only election, it would come damn near close this time.

Not really. He went around the media with press conferences to take his case directly to the American people. He used humor to get his point across and turned the country around. We went from malaise under Carter to morning in America. He defeated the Soviet Empire without firing a shot. Extremely likable, talented speaker and courageous.

The AIDS propaganda scared a whole generation into believing that if you kissed a girl you may die. As it turns out, everyone was right all along. Unless you planned on buttfricking multiple males or being a junkie sharing needles you didn’t have a lot to worry about

You can thank the media for the perfect division

No. There is a craving for competency and adult leadership and masculine traits and leadership. Aspirational Americans are confronting Democrat party American DECLINISM. But that was entirely different. There was a cultural cohesion that simply doesn’t exist now. And liberals argued over the size and scope of government, not batshit crazy phony Woke puritanical bullshite.

They kept a close eye on him and the air traffic controllers' strike. They were one of the only unions to suppport him, but when they broke the rules, he fired them. Buttholes puckered in the Kremlin.

He stationed the Pershing II missiles in Europe and the left went nuts. Called him a war monger. They made fun of the Strategic Defense Initiative by calling it Star Wars.
He was playing chess and they were playing checkers. He used both to negotiate peace. He hammered the Soviet economy. He walked away from bad deals.
Trump is using the tariffs the same way. He is two steps beyond the Dim/Media alliance and they are too stupid to know it.

Imagine a little Bunk and his older brother drove across metro Detroit to see a Mondale/Ferraro rally. Because that did happen.

I see a version of that. Not as idealistic, but certainly workable.

Imagine being the only retards in the country to vote for his opponent… fricking Minnesota
Mondale was from Minnesota and was the senator for the state before he was VP. Reagan still almost won there, he was something like only 1,200 votes away from winning the state.
Fun story, my dad was in a restaurant in Cleveland and Mondale was there as well, after some event, while he was Carter's VP. Mondale was being extremely loud, obnoxious and foul-mouthed. My dad was entertaining some clients and it was making them and their wives very uncomfortable. My dad went over to his table and was confronted by his secret service detail, he proceeded to tell the Secret Service agent loudly, so Mondale could hear it that if he didn't adjust his behaviour that he'd have to do it for him. The agent while escorting my dad back to his table told him "I really wish we could let you, the Vice President is a royal prick".
I never believed the story until about 25 years later. I played golf at a charity event with one of my dads old coworkers and he was apparently there that night and told me the story almost verbatim as my dad told it. He also added that Mondale looked like he was about to shite himself. My dad (now about 80) was an imposing guy who had played defensive line at Pitt in the late 60's. I can't imagine Mondale wanted to have to deal with him.

Don't forget Reagan was shot and almost killed in that first term. Even with that, the media only held their vitriol back for a couple of months. By the time the 84 election came around, the media were eviscerating him again

1984 RNC Dallas
so much pussy
stage right or stage left whatever if you're facing Reagan I was immediately to his left on the floor
The podium was like 40 feet above me so it wasn't like I was that close to him
Then later that night I got a hand job from a good Catholic girl from Corpus Christi while two Mormons were laying in the bed next to me in the hotel room

Congress actually voted AGAINST sending tax money and military aid to a foreign country (Nicaragua).
Of course, they were doing it to screw Reagan.

And the Democrats still sought out the Soviets assurances (Kennedy via Sen. Tunney to KGB head Chebrikov) if they used the 25th amendment on Reagan and assistance in the 1984 election.
Even then the Democrats didn't care about the voters.
In 1986 Chebrikov sought Kennedy's assistance in helping them hide Chernobyl from the world.

I remember it well. My first vote for president as well. Then I had the pleasure of him being my first CinC.
That election was less about “alignment” and more about a horrible candidate on the other side.
Sound familiar?
