I was saying this out of laziness, then I realized that I have the technology to blow that pipeline. It’s 300 feet deep. I could go out there in a boat with a bomb, dive down to 300 feet with scuba gear, and plant the bomb with a timer. This shite about most nations not having the technology is baloney. EVERY nation has the technology.

Well Russia being the largest stakeholder in NS2 at just over 50%; makes zero sense that they would do it

If Russia did it, and successfully framed the US, it would be a bonanza for Russia. Remember, whoever did this thought all of this through ahead of time, so all of these easy conclusions are probably wrong.

Why?

Either Putin is a pussy or not. Either we want to cut Russia off from the West or not.

Blowing up the pipeline is a good thing. We should be bragging about it.

You believe its someone else for the EXACT same reason. The reality is, there's a compelling case for the US being responsible. You dont have to like it, but dont come on here with your gaslighting bullsh*t pretending that it doesnt exist.

But what if we didn't do it? Why would we brag about it in that scenario?

I’m just saying that if the US did this, and is caught, NATO would likely fracture and deals would be cut between Germany and Russia. The German people would lynch their leaders for anything less. America would be ejected from military bases in Germany. It would be a coup for Russia. And for what cost? Those pipelines are easily repaired.

ETA: I’m not saying this is a probable scenario, just a possible one.

I guess it would be considered a direct act of war, potentially dragging the US into the hot war.

Why? Russia didn't intend to restore gas flow anytime soon. Germany offered to GIVE two brand new Siemens gas turbines to replace the ones down for maintenance two months ago. Russia refused.

These lines are under around 3200 psig operating pressure. They should be able to be popped like a balloon with a pencil point. An armed mine clearing drone dropped from a fishing boat is an easy way to accomplish this

Now Russia has put the USA on notice that our pipeline network is vulnerable to its desires. Much of this is outside US territorial waters so any vessel or plane in the world drop one of these drones and perform the task as long as it had the range to get there.

If you are going to continue to deny at least say, hey, this is a step in the right direction. We (the West/NATO) needs to fully sever ties with Russia.

There is a compelling case for several countries

I don't discount the possibility that it could have been us. But we don't have any evidence to make that claim with any level of confidence.

You have morons like Gumbo Pot proclaiming it as some sort of absolute truth but the imagination of a crazy person isn't a substitute for evidence.
