No, I'm suggesting you be more circumspect than that.

From the US perspective, why would it undermine the security umbrella it developed in Europe during the Cold War by attacking civilian infrastructure? There is no strategy there that makes any sense, taking the long-term view. Regardless of what you think of the US security apparatus, they aren't prone to undermining security structures they themselves built. It beggars belief, because the pipeline can also be repaired, of what purpose this would serve for the US and the West.

What? This isn't optics. This is running a major operation under the nose of several major European allies. There is no media shield, as European intelligence agencies aren't using media sources.

If you can't describe the motivations under the broader geopolitical context, including previous actions, then what you want is someone to repeat your viewpoint back to you. I'm skeptical you've followed geopolitics enough to even know what I'm referring to, but alas, you are free to believe what you want.
