why would you foolishly assume that the US couldn't pull this off right under their noses?

Firstly, because how integrated those intelligence agencies are. Secondly, because any attack is going to leave a trail of evidence, depending on how it was done. There is no possibility that you can attack a piece of civilian infrastructure and leave absolutely no trace behind. Thirdly, it isn't as though that area isn't already heavily monitored. I'm not underrating US capability, I'm saying that if the US did it, it had to have done it with European allies on board. That changes the entire geopolitical metric, and means something else entirely for Russia, which isn't good for them either.

They risk nothing if they maintain they are innocent and blame Russia instead.

Assuming the EU/Germany don't have the ability to find out the truth.

We risk a shite ton. Turning the EU against us would mean we lose our most powerful ally and the international order would unwind.

These dudes are just not understanding the implications of the arguments they are making. They seem to think a multi-polar world is going to work out for their specific political viewpoint, when it would definitely not.

Oh I know.

That's why they didn't understand the simple concept behind my joke thread a few days ago about how Biden blowing up the pipeline would do more to fight globalism than anything Trump did.

They can't (refuse?) to analyze the entire dataset and enter any discussion with preconceived conditions. IT's because they're primed to blame the US and do everything they can to shed blame from Russia. Why? Not sure.

It is literally the leftist strategy of blaming everything singularly on the US. What the USSR did in the CW never gets mentioned, as though they were sterling examples of behavior in international politics. Having a consistent viewpoint on this forum has been a wild ride.

Having one through the changing tides of propaganda is just that.

I still remember lots of these people defending the "WMD Theory" behind Iraq up until Obama was in office. Then the US became evil again.
