The type of business can tell you some of the challenges. I mean, if we are feeling sorry for Gen Paton because he was in the buggy whip business....maybe we should be glad he stayed in business as long as he did. Specific information would be nice.

Based on his post in another thread, he's a farmer.

That makes sense. The government never subsidizes farms!

Don’t forget that illegals here are getting your tax dollars while not getting any taxes taken out of their income which goes directly back to their country so they can live much better than you. Think about that.

While I agree with your deflection, it is a moot point, as he didn’t ask for a bailout.

FIFY

And I agree with him in theory. .

Yet another deflection.

Open borders can cause major issues, as can doling out countless billions in unplanned donations to foreign governments.

Any significant change in the price of inputs, be it by inflation or something external (oil prices exploding) can have an effect on a business.

At least one person I know who worked in a doctor’s office saw the practice shuttered at one point because the doc was a radiologist and the cost of physically transporting the films to be read went through the roof when gas prices spiked after Obama took office.

This is less an issue now that a lot of those films would be sent electronically through a secure network rather than by courier, but that is just an example of how external factors can make or break a business.

Agreed.

Additionally, the market (target audience) may be those on a fixed income, where the costs simply can’t be passed along. There are a myriad of variables.

Lastly, his business may have just run its course.

All of that being said,

2. FU for trying to shite on his military service. This country is NOT the one he went to war for
3. The frick do you know about him or his life.

If I was OP, I would legit find you and drag your arse to Sonic

Which is what people don't get about oil policies, they drive a huge portion of the economy. The difference in Trump versus Biden are the policies they employ towards energy production.

Trump's brought them down domestically, while Joe's has raised them.

It has zero to do with whether big oil has pulled more oil from the US ground under Biden versus Trump. The issue is what did it cost them to drill that oil under Trump versus Brandon. The difference is why GAS is insanely high.

If Biden had let the economy recover coming out of his man made disaster called COVID, instead of reversing Trump energy policies, the economy would not have tanked so quickly. His move poured gas on a fire that was starting to be controlled and he even acknowledged he didn't give one frick about it.

The border issues have way more impact on the economy than foreign aid, and as bad as the border situation is; the economy has been doing fairly well overall.

I think that Covid, the so called infrastructure bill and healthcare spending have been the bigger issues hurting the economy.

The failure to police the border has been more of a public safety issue. Criminals and drugs are pouring in. Sure there is some economic drag from all this, but not as much as the other three reasons I listed.

And the Ukraine thing hardly makes a difference.

What affect would it have to a principled farmer who refuses to use cheap illegal labor under the table versus paying actual documented Americans a legal living wage?

The border thing is way worse than the Left plays on, because you just can't simply shite on one of their own.

It's not just poor Mexicans coming here looking for work that Americans won't do. There are actual people who can't get on a plane and fly here walking across that border.

That had been going on for decades. Would it cause the guy to go broke now?

Like I said, it’s mostly a public safety issue. It’s ridiculous how we have not policed our borders.

Farming is a rough business. Depends on the farming as well and types of crops, etc. You had a drought and unusually high temps this past year. Farmers live on ridiculously tight margins. Smaller farms take it in the cajones on a regular basis and have for the past 50 -60 years
