If I was Iran? Asymmetric warfare designed to cultivate the sympathies of the political left in the west. Use the press, western progressives, and the election as my weapons.
Already mentioned the possibility of slowing the transit of tankers through the Strait of Hormuz under the rubric of environmentalism and inspections of transiting tankers that take 2-3 days each.
Perhaps simultaneously announce some sort of solar energy deal with the Chinese.
Attacks, single actor actions against soft targets in the EU, US, and Canada that will be deliberately misinterpreted by the leftist media and deep state as lone wolf attacks in response to droning Soulman because it is to their political advantage.
I don’t think they are capable of the subtlety required to navigate this successfully.

I fear their next attack will be a soft target, like a hotel or club. Then they can sit back while their allies, Democrats and the MSM, blame Trump.

I would look at them to search for a very soft underbelly. They have a proxy in Yemen at the Red Sea near shipping lanes.....and they share a border with Afghanistan.

I'd believe i'd try to get 0.1% of the Iranian population living in the U.S. involved in guerilla warfare and spy games. That would be roughly 2k people.

I think they pull back to where they were prior to the rocket attack and embassy invasion...that being said, the rational road, is the road less travelled.

I could see that strategy being ramped up. Create false narratives and scandals with the goal of hurting Republicans and secondary goal of continuing to create doubt and mistrust amongst Americans.

That's best case for cyber... worst case is they take down industrial controls systems, like water plants or chemical plants.
