You can’t blame Obama for Iran. Iran’s power is a result of numerous missteps in our foreign policy. They have been growing in power since we handcuffed Iraq in 1991. Arab Shias have natural ties with Iran due to holy sites and religious schooling. A number of Lebanon’s Shias have Iraqi roots and Iran has natural alliances across the Twelver Muslim community. Weak central governments in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq only bolsters the influence of Iran.

My worry is they send some Iranian in and kill an unsuspecting US general when he/she is doing something mundane like shopping at the grocery store.

I'd start blowing the hell out of shite in Europe.
Send a few emails to American MSM outlets that innocent people are dying because of the great Satan Trump.
MSM would certainly help spread the propaganda. Send waves of fear through the idiot American voter to rise up and vote out the OMB.

Its been reported on td that an $80 million bounty has been put on trumps head.
If true that its been offered then you just sit back and see if anyone goes for it. Even near misses would be some balm to the masses who are clamoring for revenge.

I'd love to see them move towards Democracy and get rid of their Islamic state. However, that doesn't seem to be in the cards.
So, if I was the leader of Iran or any other ME country that had policy goals that conflicted with the US and the Western allies, my TOP priority would be to develop a nuclear weapons program. Take a look around at the countries that defied the west and see what happened to them. A nuclear deterrent is the only thing that keeps the west at bay as proven by North Korea and the former Soviet Union.

That would definitely cause some American allies in Europe to get pissed off and blame Trump for starting it all. Most dems here already think he unnecessarily stired the pot. Issue I see for Iran there is I don't see one of the European countries that would randomly be attacked just sitting there and taking it. What is to stop that country from coming after Iran? Now Iran is in a pissing match with several countries at once.

Agreed. Solid article. I am not a conspiracy guy, but at the end of the day I would not be shocked if the General got on the wrong side of someone in Iran and a deal was brokered with the CIA to give up the General in exchange for something. 20 something years is long time to be the top dog. It almost seems too bold of an act to be reckless.
