That is almost always true of women that demand access to male spaces

To be fair. If you say you're a woman, you can freely enter any female space.

I am saying the stereotype of the women that are in nudist colonies are of similar quality to the women that demand access to male spaces

This is not a substantial, widespread issue, and hardly anyone gives a shite…

I can't either.

When I say "male only" members,, the women are there, working and taking care of the male club members who often bring their women, i.e., girlfriends, wifes, etc. with them.

The women can not be members.

You proven time and time again to dislike men as a gender so it’s hard to take you seriously.

Yeah...I don't know about that. Maybe not a major issue, but...

A little over a year ago I joined a gym that I would use primarily for their cardio machines—I did strength training with an X3 Bar system that I would bring with me and use in some relatively slow area of the gym.

When I joined there were three such areas, low traffic, stretching type areas, out of the way and easy to use my equipment in.

The gym was under new ownership and was renovating section by section. So one day I went upstairs to one of my usual "X3 Bar spaces" and it had been cordoned off for only those who had a premium membership. O.k., fair enough.

The next time I went in they were replacing every one of the cardio machines downstairs, so there was nothing to use. I knew there were a few machines upstairs, so I went upstairs to my next-lowest traffic "X3-Bar areas," which had a few cardio machines in it, and lo and behold there was a sign on the door saying, "Women Only."

I went downstairs and said, "Hey, I get it, you guys are changing out these machines down here, no problem. But there's nobody in the "Women Only" area upstairs, can I use one of the machines just for today, while there's not one down here for my use?"

"Absolutely not."

So I started getting mad and asking questions.

"O.k., so I assume that since there is a "Women's Only" area now, there will also be a "Men's Only" area. Where is that area and does it have cardio machines I can use today?"

"No, there's no 'Men's Only' area."

"Why not?"

(Stammers) "Well, a lot of women don't like working out with people watching them."

"How do you know men don't like working out with people watching them? Is this based on data?"

(Pissed off now) "Look, there's no Men's private area."

"That sounds like classic discrimination to me. Imagine if we were talking about race instead of gender. A "White Only" area without a corresponding "Black Only" area. That's the same kind of discrimination we spent the 50s and 60s protesting over, isn't it?"

(Now flustered and REALLY pissed off). "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way."

"It's not about my feelings. That's textbook discrimination."

It wasn't that visit, but the next visit I cancelled my membership which the same manager was very helpful in facilitating for me when the kid at the front desk tried to give me static about it

And afterwards I looked it up and it seems like for some reason, the courts do tolerate this sort of thing. I have no idea why. Gender is a protected class. I can't really insert any other protected class in that equation and imagine that a court wouldn't dook all over it.

Because it's a private club that you have to have a membership to? I don't know. I know a lot of country clubs got around having black people join using that argument for a long time.
