I remember a long time ago Ford tried to introduce a model in Italy where the name of the vehicle in Italian literally meant "will not run". (Or I might have made that up)

Because it's about personal choice. I haven't heard one person suggest we harass the CEO's family, financial partners, vendors and merchants etc etc. This is nothing like what the left does. People exercising personal choice is not even close to cancel culture.

I say this who thinks bud light is piss in a can and don't care at all if it dies.

Just stopping and letting everyone know the reason vs. throwing fits and actually making threats and even acting on some of them.......ummm might be slightly different.

Having a hard time coming up with another example where a solid, massive brand (even for a crap product) was taken down so precipitously due to a single, unforced decision.

I haven't heard any widespread cries or any sort of movement seeking to force BL from being produced or that the brand cease to exist. It's just a collective group of customers choosing to not purchase the product.

Contrast that with something like Aunt Jemima products where "activist" didn't simply avoid buying the products under that brand. They demanded that it cease to exist...or be "canceled" (ultimately the brand name was changed)

EDT: To put it in the context of beer, virtue signalers didn't simply choose to avoid purchasing Dixie Beer. They demanded the brand name cease to exist. Which is does now. Dixie Beer wasn't some exceptionally great beer. However, it was a historic brand (at least in this region) with a lot of built in nostalgia. Now, under a new brand name (which I can't even remember) the product simply just a forgettable brand in a myriad of non-descript craft beer brands.

I can thing of movies whose woke casting or marketing decisions ruined the entire project.

But it’s hard to find other examples. I’m sure they exist.

I believe you are thinking of the Chevy Nova in Mexico or Latin America.

It’s a myth, though.

Much smaller scale of course: Shing's in BR off of Govt Street. I believe they wrote on their sign that they don't use dog and cat meat in response to rumors about this Chinese buffet serving dog and cat meat Opened on a Monday, grand closing on Tuesday.

Negra Modelo
Leffe Blonde
Karbach Love Street

Only ones I've purchased a six pack of on that list in the past decade, but I really like them. Don't really drink much anymore, anyway, so it will be easy to boycott.

They couldn't even really show anyone actually "demanding" this. It appeared to just be silly Ms. Gayle getting wrapped up into the whole goofy BLM hysteria that did so.

It's a perfect example of the BRAND being really the only valuable aspect of the whole company. It was the reason Tom Benson stated he bought it, in order to preserve it as such.

The irony was, she changed it to a name, Fauburg, that denoted areas of growing early New Orleans that were created out of SLAVE HOLDING PLANTATIONS with most retaining the names of the former slave holding plantations.

Nobody on the right is calling for Bud Light to have their social media accounts banned. Nobody on the right is calling of for Bud Light to have their USDA/FDA/Brewing License repealed. Nobody is calling for Bud Light to be removed from state-approved distribution lists. Nobody is boycotting the bars or stores that still sell Bud Light. Nobody is boycotting a TV channel that carries a Bud Light commercial.

We just simply aren't buying the beer.

I know you see the difference, you just want to be a kunt.

Fox had a unforced error when they called Arizona early. Many people including me turned them off and never went back.
