The Twelver Shias make up an overwhelming majority of the population. I hope a more Western friendly leader takes control, but I don’t have high hopes.

Gather all the radical clerics and their followers and put bullets in them.

They haven’t been Zoroastrian since they were conquered in 654. There are less than 300K Zoroastrians left worldwide now.

Iran is a predominantly Muslim nation, with estimates indicating over 99% of its roughly 88–90 million population identifies as Muslim. Roughly 90–95% of Muslims are Shi'a (the state religion), while 5–10% are Sunni. Recognized minorities—Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians—comprise about 1% or less, alongside a significant, often hidden population of Bahá'ís and non-believers.
The dancing Persians in Los Angeles don’t matter. The majority Shia in Iran do. They're not going anywhere, and the majority support the regime. This is going to eventually end up like Afghanistan. They are who they are.

I think they should literally bulldoze every single Mosque in Iran and either deport or imprison most of the Muslim population
The “Persians” you speak of are majority Muslim and follow Islamic religion albeit maybe not the extreme orthodox of the Iranian religious leaders.
They are not going to bulldoze their mosques.

stop the Islamist from forcing non Muslims to conform to islam.
You can wear your burka is you want but no one else has to.
If you don't want bacon or beer fine, but that doesn't mean no one else can't enjoy it.
We don't want to hear your dying cat wailing over a PA system 5 times a day either.
And you don't throw down your rug on the street or sidewalk and block everyone. If you want to pray, fine, get your arse to a mosque.

As others have said, Iran isn’t going to stop being Muslim. But with a little luck, it could’ve less crazy Muslim.
But Islam lends itself to fundamentalism. It’s a core tenet.

That’s what I was getting at. I think I read less than 30% are devout Muslims, so basically forced on them.
This is true.

Christianity has quietly exploded in Iran, in a purposefully political, yet organic way. The underground church in Iran is reminiscent of 1st C. Rome where the faith is spread in secrecy under the penalty of death. For some it’s religious, for many it’s a direct rejection of a soul crushing Islamic regime.
Persia was the birth place of Zoroastrianism, so many Iranians have been red-pilled in regards to their origins and how Islam was thrust upon them at the point of the sword that we may see one of the greatest cultural shifts ever witnessed.

No one cares as long as they don’t sponsor terror, jihad, and the abuse of their people…

I think most Persians weren’t Muslim before the revolution. They were forced to convert afterwards.
That’s true of every Muslim population. Their ancestors were all forced to convert. But Iran was indeed mostly Muslim before the 1979 revolution. Their conversion to Islam happened in the 7th century.

Officially yes, but the reality is different. Maybe 60% identify as Muslim with the majority of the rest identifying as secular but culturally Muslim , there are some Christians in the Northwest. There used to be a few hundred thousand Jews but they have migrated to Israel, the US and other countries. Zoroastrians are still around but not in any particularly large number.
There were no mass forced conversions when the Ayatollah took over. The country was overwhelmingly Muslim then.....Shah used to go on pilgrimages to Mecca and used to bring a camera crew with him to film it.

50k of Iran’s 75k mosques have closed their doors. Under this regime, calling yourself a Muslim is akin to calling yourself a communist under soviet authoritarianism. Do you actually have much of a choice when leaving the faith for another could very well end in your death? I wouldn’t trust in the average Iranian’s staunch adherence to that faith, and besides, there is an enormous uptick in Christianity and underground Christian gatherings in Iran. It’s been going on for quite a while now.
