Meh.... I don't believe race had anything to do with it. The context was based on "The Lion King " and Trump was depicted as a lion, King of the Jungle.
Your perspective is no more relevant than my perspective on this.
So, who is pretending??

Showing him as a skunk would actually be appropriate.

comparing Black people to primates has a long, ugly racist history

Post the receipts. Not doubting you but I've heard this for a long time. But no one showed the historical evidence of this. I've not once ever thought of a black person as any sort of primate, it appears like it's a you problem that requires some introspection.

More made up leftist trash. Comparing someone to monkeys is not racist. Get out of your leftist echo chamber.

The only people who feel it is "racist" are those who feel monkeys and blacks have something in common. I do not.

During slavery and the Jim Crow era, Black people were routinely depicted as apes, monkeys, or “less evolved” to justify enslavement, segregation, violence, and denial of rights. These images weren’t accidental insults; they were propaganda used to argue that Black people were biologically inferior and closer to animals than humans. I’m quite you have seen those old cartoon characters depicting black people as monkeys and apes.

No matter what the reasoning was and the amount of characters in the video, having Obama and Big Mike as gorillas will be all they will see. Again, no reasoning will change this. There are other ways of putting voter fraud "players" if you will on blast w/o using this method.

Im MAGA af but this video was not called for. Whoever made it and posted it needs to be handled and NO, an apology wont help. This is the 1st actual time I have thought for once this was dumb coming from "camp OMB" whoever made it and posted it. And yes im white.

MAGA

You’re trying to lecture a Black man who lived through segregation and the civil rights era about racism and claim being called a monkey or an ape has no racial implications. That’s absurd. If believe that it’s ok to refer to black people as monkeys or apes then go find the biggest black guy and call him monkey.

The media hate Trump. Pop culture hates Trump. There's no reason to give them ammo. He's got to stop these late night tweet gifts to all of his enemies.

It's the lead off story on ABCNews.com right now and if NBC didn't have the Olympics going on, it would be theirs too. He'll survive it but there's damage and it's just not smart.

And please have someone video it from a safe distance and post it here.

Casting the Obamas as “primates” while others are shown as other jungle inhabitants
So .... you didn't actually view the video?

Watch this clip, then readdress "others are shown as other jungle inhabitants."

We are not living in the slavery era.

We are living in an era in which Bush, and Trump are imaged as apes.
Why?

You are implying that the Obamas and their supporters are exempt from similar retorts because things that no longer are applicable, once were applicable.

My guess is you wouldn’t get banned on TD for pandas or skunks either. It is what it is.

My best guess is if there had not been a jungle themed song, Lion Sleeps Tonight, chances are very high there would not have been a jungle themed video.

But what I think everyone is missing is POTUS Trump is certainly sleeping very well.

Please read the post to which I replied. He asked for receipts showing that depicting Black people as monkeys or apes has a long racist history, and I provided the historical context. I’ve seen no attacks on Trump based on his race, only criticism of his spray tan, verbal slip-ups, or character flaws. Racial attacks are low-hanging fruit, used when someone can’t articulate a coherent argument.

Comparing black people to monkeys is not racist is what you really want to say because you're a TACO like Trump.

A monkey is not a race. I just do not get how it can be called racist.
