All politicians, and all recipients of any form of social welfare, research funding, tax breaks, and seed money for businesses be labeled as "government funded"?

Should Tesla and SpaceX receive the same label? They wouldn't exist without government funding, tax breaks and benefitting from tax rebates to consumers?

Should entities that aren't media be labeled as media? Is that really what you're asking?

Are they in the business of spreading government propaganda like NPR, PBS, and BBC?

They should just start their own platform if they don't like the label...

I see you listed these two things separately. Is it because you think they’re different?
Would it be reasonable to differentiate, as you have here, the difference between a direct payment and the ability to not forfeit what you’ve earned?

That must have sounded really brilliant in your head.

Words on the screen indicate you were wrong

I’m pretty sure that any entity that receives a federal grant is now “state-sponsored.”

I do not make up the rules.

Not the point. For me, as titillating as it is to see NPR, PBS and the BBC knashing of teeth for the labeling, if you compare their funding to the funding received by, let's say, Lockheed, for example.

Lockheed is on Twitter. Since they would absolutely not exist without government funding, should their posts include this label? Their posts are self-serving in favor of government funded programs.

Lockheed is not in the business of trying to tell you that black is white and up is down. They have politicians to do that for them.

People keeping more of the money that they earn is NEVER a government hand out.

Please re-frame your brain.

sure they took the government money but they are also subject to MANY Government regulations that cost them so look at it as a refund of sorts.

It's the world in which we operate. Spacex, et al., didn't create the system. Hate the game not the player.

If there weren't any government funds do you think these companies would not have happened? You're saying that they didn't build that?

I disagree.

If Tesla receives gov money they shouldn’t be able to donate to any politicians.

Chicago Sun Times was bought by BEZ. A publically funded news organization.

Lockheed is producing a product for their payment. What product is NPR and LPB producing for their payment?

I don't really object.

But, in the context of free and honest speech, there is a huge difference between a for profit corporation and a media company whose job is to disseminate info.
