Go ahead and link that law or are you just pulling shite out of your arse?

What law? Do you mean the 4th amendment?

Sounds like you’re another knee jerk poster that thinks I oppose what you support when I don’t.

FWIW all law enforcement anywhere needs at least reasonable suspicion to search a vehicle on the roads or highways. ICE and CBP get that automatically near the border, basically. Outside of that, it would theoretically need to be developed or articulated same as any other LEO search.

I'm pretty sure you need a CDL to drive a semi truck, and I'm pretty sure a condition of the CDL is that your cargo is subject to search at any and all times without reason, and you can be stopped at any time for any reason.

not if they determine an illegal is driving - if an illegal is driving, then a crime has been committed and that creates probable cause side So, there should be no problem If the driver is legal and has a right to be driving, then a warrant is certainly needed to inspect the cargo If it’s an illegal, then all bets are off

I don’t disagree. What I find interesting is ICE doing “mass inspections” and what that would mean.

I don’t know about interstellar highways, that’s above my pay grade.

ICE can inspect vehicles on those in cooperation with the Space Force.

Your logs and stuff are subject to inspection at any time, but cargo is not. There’s a 4th Amendment threshold for the trailer and physical searches.

what that would mean.
it means it’s risky to let an illegal transport your cargo - that IS the message that I want to see

and if an illegal is caught driving, the entire cargo is subject to federal inspection

Why is this a problem?

Getting into interesting legal territory if ICE is stopping trucks that far from the border.

I seem to recall ICE camped out on the side of the road in west LA when I used to drive to Houston a good bit. Even during the Obummer years.

I have been driving in and out of Birmingham since I was old enough to drive. I have watched Trooper pull plenty of people over in that time. I have never seen them so focused on pulling over tractor trailers as they have been this past few months.

The Troopers have been a lot more active pretty much everywhere you go lately. They are really busy on 65 though pulling trucks over.

You’re the one making the assertion that ICE is in some iffy legal territory. Just asking you to prove your point. What are you basing that off legally?

Maybe that’s a you problem. Don’t post dumbass leftist takes then wonder of why people assume the worst of you. By the way, I didn’t post anything about the hat I think you oppose or support. You just made that up in your head for some reason. It would appear you have some sort of guilty conscience

These are commercial vehicles and not protected in the same way.

If what you're saying is true, inspections at weight stations would be illegal.

But then we found out states like California were giving CDLs to people that couldn’t even understand the tests
