quote:Yes. Everyone was saying how Louisiana/LSU looked like a bunch of retards with the governor getting directly and publicly involved with the firing/hiring of coaches and ADs. And maybe we did look stupid and maybe Landry was just lucky. But LSU got Kiffin.
This entire website blamed him for Kelly's firing saying no coach would ever come here. So if he gets the blame, he should get the credit for hiring Kiffin.

Why are data centers bad?
Tell us your own thoughts as to why and not just the regurgitated MSM talking points
There is only one CC project on that list, and dollar-wise, it is small compared to everything else.

But what Landry said wasnt stupid
The media wanted it to "sound" stupid because of his cajun accent and typical Louisiana meddling.
His entire concern was that given the way contracts (like Kelly's) was written that the state was on the hook financially if LSU couldn't afford his enormous buyout ... as the Governor of the state and, in effect, the financial steward of the state, he had every right to call out the cavalier nature of the decision.

Landry is doing an excellent job! It doesn’t hurt that we have the speaker, and majority leader of the house.
1.25 republican senators helps also. Hopefully will be 2 soon.
We need to keep the foot on the accelerator…ride this boom as long as possible.

Ai was invented 20 years ago on aol instant messenger and they called it smarterchild. It did what ai does now minus being good at excel
It ran on windows 95 beige box computers and a dial up internet connection
When they realized how powerful it was and that they weren’t making money the technology was buried
They don’t need extra computing power to run this stuff, they’re using data centers to power mass surveillance
Any time a carpetbagger comes to Louisiana and pretends that that they will make our lives better they’re lying.

Sure.
We should continue just being happy and content on the never-ending road to nowhere with nothing but our homegrown liars.

The ten commandments thing was silly, the Omar stunt was really silly.
Getting a space port in La is pretty damn good, along with how he has made LSU great again

Adding more liars doesn’t fix anything
I don’t think it’s nowhere, I like it here. But more outsiders make it worse

I really dislike his coziness with the trial lawyers.
Yeah I would guess that tort reform and anything meaningful that would reduce the ambulance chaser industry and lower auto insurance rates is out of the question.

Not a fan but I give him credit where it’s due and this space x deal is seriously legit. Kudos to Landry
It’s a big deal for Louisiana

This entire response is bullshite.
AOL Instant Messenger wasn't AI, it was iMessage at best. Smarterchild was a chatbot created by a company ActiveBuddy and used scripted responses.

But can you imagine, fricking Edwin Edwards trying to get this starbase built in Louisiana?
That crook would've wanted a 300K kickback.
PS - "Thanks" to the South Louisiana bros for electing that scumbag Governor 4 times.

Hey kid. Read up on Gov Mike Foster (1996-2004). You might learn something.

Would never have left. Bernhardt just sold and became a billionaire.
As chairman of LA Dems, Shaw made bank post Katrina, serious bank. They were kicked off of projects otherwise losing money on projects bid. They had one contract at Shell's Geismar expansion, the piperack connecting all the units. It was off where it they met, by 6 feet.
Sold to CBI based on contract backlog. CBI went bankrupt as a result.

I loved Mike Foster. Voted for him twice. He appointed me to a state board that governed my profession. He refused to get on a plane and fly to Japan when they were looking to build in the US. He raised up Jindal (who I also voted for) who was a huge disappointment. Don't really "like" Landry, but you have to give hime props on economic development and starting on getting rid of some of the BS things eating tax revenues in NOLA

7 of the top 8 all time projects have come under him in the short amount of time
sky screamers can get mad if they want...I dont give a frick.

Who you a big fan of?
Until he betrayed Trump, I like Garret Graves. I was a huge Kip Holden fan. I really liked Mike Foster. I disliked Vitter’s personality, but he was absolutely fantastic politically. Meanwhile, I like Kennedy’s persona, but don’t particularly like his politics.
I really don’t like Billy Nungesser or Bill Cassidy. Higgins tends to vote the way I want, but says some truly unfathomably stupid stuff. Jindal was such a huge disappointment. I’m still not sure about Mike Johnson, and I haven’t been overly impressed by Letlow.
I like Mayor Sid Edwards, but I fear his administration is in over their heads. I don’t think he has enough good experienced people in his camp to seriously change the city/parish bureaucracy for the better while also surviving the massive fiscal crisis his predecessor purposely left behind.
Landry is an excellent politician, and he occasionally gets great results, but he screws over his own allies a lot. It makes him seem slimy. I disagreed with some of his legislative agenda as well with how he went about some of his agenda (especially with how he seemed to sabotage his own tax reform, the inspection stickers, coastal lawsuits, sediment diversions, etc).
All politicians are grifters to an extent, but something about Jeff is just so cynical and open about it, it doesn’t make me feel good about supporting him even when we agree, even when I vote for him. He just seems like your stereotypical corrupt machine politician.

Yep
Here's the other home run. The costal erosion lawsuit had 40 locations included, that ended up being excluded thru a federal judges rule, like a fart in the wind.
Elon is fixing all erosion issues and rebuilding marsh areas and storm protection, because his facilities would be directly affected.
Landry closed this deal, Louisiana costal system wins, 3xxon wins, Elon wins...etc etc etc
