I think it's time call a spade a spade... Governor Landry

Is the best Louisiana Governor of my lifetime.
I don't really care about the 10 commandments thing either way. It's just a cultural issue.
But can you imagine, fricking Edwin Edwards trying to get this starbase built in Louisiana?
So much stupid corruption in our history has held us hostage, going all the back to the Disney World fiasco... losing major corporations like freeport mcmoran, shaw group, etc... Hell even Delta Airlines if you want to go back far enough
I'm not saying SpaceX having a spaceport here is on that level yet but its clearly a nice reversal of a generational trend.
New Orleans is safer.
LSU appointments trying to mend the damage of the past decade.
Hell even his opinions on college athletics were spot on... nothing he said, I personally disagreed with.

Meh. Before this new great news, he didn’t seem to be doing anything all that special. I really dislike his coziness with the trial lawyers.
I would still take him over a democrat though and hope he kicks into high gear and gets more economic wins now that the SpaceX deal is for real

On the one hand getting SpaceX here is probably the greatest economic this to happen to this state since oil.
On the other hand, SpaceX was gonna come to Louisiana come hell or high water simply because it’s one of the few places on the planet, much less the US, that is capable of handling high volume rocket launches.
But Landry certainly played a huge part in getting the deal done quick and efficiently.

It’s pretty hard to assign credit to this to anyone one person or policy, but this is one of the best developments in the city over the last few years. The governor should take his credit for this and hope whatever coordination is happening with the mayor and the state here continues and doesn’t get bogged down in political messaging and score settling.
Real progress on crime is being made in the biggest city in the State. Figure out insurance rates, street flooding, and the schools and we’ll be near liveable some of the year.

I'm not really sure how to fix that problem. They are gatekeepers in this state and it will take more than just one governor to get out of that cycle.
I'd rather this version of trial lawyer than John Bel Edwards, because at least some semblance of "vision" is happening.

Not a big fan of Landry personally, but I will happily give him credit where it is due. His administration is doing better than JBE at attracting large industry investments in South Louisiana, he got LSU fans their basketball coach back, and I can’t see how anyone could paint the National Guard deployment in New Orleans as anything but a success for public safety.

I've always been under the belief that Louisiana has highly capable people... just suppressed by poor leadership

Not a big fan of Landry personally, but I will happily give him credit where it is due. People who get hung up on the "personalities" of politicians/elected officials, are just as bad if not worse than those who are enamored by them.
As I see it, it's sort of two sides of the same coin.
I've tried to grow to do noting but pay attention to what they do (or often don't do) and to judge them only on such.
