Aren't the tax returns, literally the documents that he has to send to the federal government every year? And most certainly get reviewed and audited very carefully by the IRS.

What exactly is Congress planning to find in these that is so criminal? How can this be seen as anything other than a fishing expedition to leak some embarrassing, out of context, information to the New York Times in order to damage one of their political opponents?

Do regular Democrats really support this activity, and view it as a wise and vital use of Congressional oversight power?

It's not about taxes, it's about humiliating him for how little he really has as opposed to the billions he claims. That's what the Dems are thinking.

Also, they think they can politically bludgeon him with where he spends & gets his money. Effectively they want to do to Trump what the MSM is hiding with regards to Joe and his son.

It kills the establishment that they have no leverage on this man.

DC operates on leverage.

There won't be hearings on this. Neal however will release them soon to the press which has been the plan all along. Turnabout, however is fair play. Ways and Means could request for anyone.

Personally, I would like that law stricken from the books. Its sole purpose is to be used as a political tool to score points. It has nothing to do with anything remotely related to governance and is an egregious violation of privacy regardless of of party affiliation.

Agree but one of these is not like the others. One of these would result in the execution of death sentences, should the truth be fully known

Agreed. Either they want to ridicule him for not having as much as he claims OR they want to show he actually does have a lot but doesn't pay much in taxes and they want to turn people against him for that. Either way, it damages him and they are 100% using the IRS and the system as a political tool against a political opponent. Everyone should be losing their minds over this.

Finding something criminal is the dream, finding anything they think could be used as any sort of "gotcha" is the goal. If they can find that he has "only" $1B in worth instead of whatever he's claiming, then they feel like they can use it to drive away some of his supporters.

This is what they're focusing on instead of curbing their endless deficit spending, crime, etc.

The federal government is making a spectacle over going after what the federal government already has. This is a cue from one deep state department to another to “find something “. Anything.

What law?

There's no law that requires disclosure. That was the big deal. He wouldn't and flouted tradition

Just like “moderate democrats.” That ship has long since sailed. They along with the RINOS are enemies of the Constitution, and no, I’m not exaggerating.

The dems fear of DJT has lead them to smear him in anyway possible no matter how clumsy and false the claims may be. This time it's his taxes. They also use the MSM against Trump to distract us from Brandon's daily gaffs and the failed economy, border, etc. The dems working with the MSM have numbed my mind and I don't pay attention to their stunts.

Tax returns are confusing to everyday people (sigh) and they are hoping to confuse and anger people with them even though he will be following the laws they wrote.

It’s just another way to see that the media is in the tank for one side. Any calls for his tax returns should be met with the following question and it should be the first question every single time:

“Senator/congressman X, why do you think the IRS is incompetent?”

“I don’t”

“So you think you’re more qualified to review tax returns than trained professionals??”

“No. It’s not like that at all, uhhhhhhhhhhhh, you see, uhhhhhhhhh”

As if tax forms would even show anything other than income for a given year. It's not Net Worth Tax it's INCOME tax.

“Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.” - Joseph Stalin

They are trying to find something…anything… no matter how insignificant to pin on Trump. There probably hasn’t been a man alive who has been raked over the coals like Trump has, and he still waves his dick in their face. He really is made of Teflon.

They want to find anything to attack his integrity and/or character with the public. Plain and simple. They'll hammer it and they'll hammer it over and over with the media ad nauseam, and use words like elitist etc.

It's a neener-neener fricking world with the Dems and left. We allowed it and they literally play games with the power. No one checks/challenges them in numbers to back them up. No accountability and the ability to run rogue against all natural civilized norms that we have in our culture are their strong holds.

I am like the dude that posted on here once that he's just waiting and hoping for the big rock to fall from the sky and restart shite from dirt.

Real talk.
