You understand that Patriotism is the only way to get back to the values that this country was founded on.

The left is dismissing patriotism and equating it with everything bad that has ever happened in the Unites States, while ignoring the good.

The bad things that happened in this country are because of bad people, not because or Constitution is wrong or because our Founding Fathers were misguided.

We need to get back to a point where the rule of law, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, due process, and equal access to the law all mean something. Then our country will be okay and the pendulum will swing back.

For you to say that you give up on patriotism is for you to give up on the United States that our Founding Fathers wanted. You are handing the country over to the communists and telling us that you don't care, anymore.

We do not! What about the carnage of abortion?

Don't you know that Hollywood dictates our culture and beliefs more than any church or bible?

And as far as the constitution goes, the framers envisioned a modesty sized federal government restricted in it's actions to set of specifically innumerated activities. The bulk of the power was to be with the states.

Do you think they imaged a permanent bureaucracy of millions that holds more power than our elected representatives?

I have come to believe that patriotism is a form of bias and emotionalism that can be too easily used to manipulate the people and obscure truth.

Incorrect...advocacy for the superior form of governance is logical. I've been to 33 countries and most foreign populations regard us as the bastion against tyranny. Others don't know why the populace do not yield to the expertise of the governmental controllers. No guns, quiet citizenry, etc.

I’m patriotic to the ideals this country was founded upon, and an enemy to that which opposes those ideals.

IOW, the flag is not which stirs me. It’s just cloth, and USA is just an acronym. The ideals we were founded upon is what stirs me. The minute those ideals are superseded by a flag on a flag pole that doesn’t embody those ideals anymore is the minute I quit getting stirred by that flag because it no longer embodies American ideals, but rather servitude and a perversion of what my country was supposed to be.

Don’t confuse indoctrination and propaganda with changing ideals.

The media is lying every day to try to break people.

I think your taking for granted that you will always have the freedom and opportunity to do what it is you do that keeps you so busy. Or, your just assuming that there is no way you can affect things one way or the other... which seems to be the case

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.

Mark Twain is credited with saying this. It made an impression the first time I heard it. I believe it’s appropriate to this time and place.

I'm pro American, but not patriotic. There is a difference. I want my country to succeed, but I'm not blind to her many faults.

Patriotism should be towards the Constitution and for the concept of America, including rememberance of the fallen who fought for the Constitution.

I’m a retired Marine infantryman. I gave a lot for my ideals. My best friend was killed at Fallujah. That being said, when is the last time we “fought for the constitution”?

My dad was a Marine infantryman in Vietnam
My grandfather was a Marine infantryman in WWII
My great grandfather was Army infantry in WWI
My great great great grandfather, uncles, and cousins fought for the confederacy

In my opinion, my ancestors that fought for the south were more patriotic than those that fought for the union. My heritage teaches that they saw the north as traitors to the republic. Either way, you would have to go back over 155 years to name a war fought for “the constitution”.

Every war and subsequent death since has been to enrich the powers that be and establish control over people and resources.

If I’m wrong, explain how.

It has something to do with "national security".

But really, as long as we are questioning whether or not we actually have free and fair elections, and as long as we are wondering exactly who is in control, I think most war making is out of order.

Seems the battle here at home needs to be won before we fight over there.

As we have recently seen, many issues that crave the light of day and a full and fair public hearing, are swept under the rug. The same is true for how we lead up to war.

If I were you I would be very skeptical about participating in any more wars for a while.

They arent Americans, they are still illegal aliens. And the anti-American dipshits in DC promoting this shite, starting with Joe Biden, aren’t true Americans either. They hate America, evidenced by their actions.
