Oh my God. Blah blah blah. DO you ever get tired of not having anything to contribute other than TDS. This is such a tired and played out leftist talking point.

I don't know. Was it accurate in 2003?

Hypotheticals about something this large and complex are worthless. I could make the same claims about Iraq or Afghanistan and they carry just as much weight.

And FTR, I'm cautiously optimistic about this so far. I've never been an isolationist and one of my (very small) concerns in 2016 was that Trump would go too far in that direction. But I don't want to see another vague 20 year "war" that has few to zero goals and objective metrics.

All that aside, to pretend that this is exactly what he campaigned on and exactly what MAGA was voting for is just gaslighting. It's easy to look up history on this forum and my memory still works reasonably well. Nobody was fist pumping this shite during his campaign and we all know it.

No sir it's not. Again, all anybody with an OUNCE of integrity needs to do is look up what Trump has always stated. Not what a media cuts and paste.

This is exactly like the media did over Charlottesville and him calling neo nazis fine people. Totally out of context. They did it with his Jan 6th speech too.

Again, that's on you.

To be fair, it's more like Iraq under Clinton than Iraq under Bush so far.

Well, for starters, there isn't any mass buildup of ground troops. And there hasn't been any talks or justification to pre-empt an invasion as to "why we are going in". Trump has been pretty consistent about not putting boots on the ground.

Now, granted, that could change, but i'd say the lack of movement of ground troops, tanks, support equipment to the ME is a pretty big indicator we aren't invading. Is it not? I haven't seen large military caravans consistently on I-10 heading east either, that was typical of the previous ME wars.

Trump has been saying this for a long time too.

I'm giving you an example of something Trump has said, you claim you voted for but then hated when put into action.

Should I keep going? Israel. Trump has always been pro Israel, it shouldn't be a shock to you or anyone when he turned out being pro Israel. Yet here you are still shocked about it.

I stand by what I said. You are retarded, or a liar.

I'm not.

You're comparing this to a 20 year, boots on the ground, military campaign.

Why are you comparing them if they're not similar?

The only criticism I ever made with respect to Trump on immigration here is the use of the AEA is very questionable and maybe not something you want to support as a Dem may abuse power using some of these same justifications.

I wasn't on the board during all of the Minnesota stuff. I do think ICE/CBP was starting to look a little jackbootish, but I generally support the administration. Homan is a pro.

This Iran conflict is absolutely a betrayal of campaign promises and the base.

You dipshits think politicians represent everything you want. They don’t and never will. Majority rules. But by all means, vote for the anti-war, pro-immigration politician and tell me how anti-war you’ll be when it’s on your door step rather than 1000s of miles away.

maybe you should have an ounce of integrity and actually re-read what he constantly promised on his campaign instead of spreading lies here.

To say Trump was being taken 'totally out of context' is one of the most blatantly dishonest things i've seen on this subject lol. Even if someone was to grant you that he only promised no new 'long' or 'forever' wars (I don't), then he was still very dishonest and misleading for using broader language constantly on the campaign like 'no new wars' and not being transparent. But the context is very clear...ever since 2015 Trump has been known for campaigning on no new wars and highlighted being against the Iraq war. that's why he got independents and moderates like Joe Rogan to vote for him.
