This is how they always do it.
Someone who wants something from a politician donates to a charity.
The charity (maybe through another foundation) moves that money to a family member of the politician as a salary or donation to their foundation.
The family member loans money or gives money to the politician.
Meanwhile you have enough seperation from Bribe-er to Bribe-ee that it's totally legit.

She said she was worth like 200k recently. She’s been earning a 175k for a while and I’m pretty sure they get a good bit of a budget to help out with their living expenses. If that’s the case, I’d say financially illiterate is a pretty good guess.

I never trade stocks!!!
I just invest in real estate based on speculation and, uh, actual knowledge of future events.
I love seeing shite where politicians lobby to get roads built in specific places, then you find out they own the land the new stadium sits on. And so on....
