I think you have misunderstood my comments.
I don't think so.
quote:
We are not at that point yet but we could be very very soon if we do not change direction in November.
Because that's exactly what I thought you were saying, and I reiterate that thinking we're going to be eating bugs to stay alive if Harris is elected is asinine.
This is what populism does. It requires an unreasonable degree of discontent as grist for the mill and it satisfies it in the form of conspiracy theories and doomsday predictions.
You're just like the populists on the left who are convinced that if Trump is elected LGBTQ people are going to be put in concentration camps and people everywhere are going to start bursting into flames due to Climate Change.
The inability to live in actual reality due to this populist addiction to doomsday insanity is what's going to end the country. That's what's going to finally cause someone (or several of them) to do something that can't be walked back.
It almost happened already. If Trump hadn't turned his head 45 degrees at just the right moment it would have already happened. You realize what motivated that was exactly the same fear mongering and doomsday predicting that you're engaging in right now, don't you? Someone on the other side in the other populist tribe thought that if Trump was elected we'd be reduced to whatever his version of eating bugs to stay alive was.
Don't get me wrong, I much prefer Trump be elected than Harris. But if Trump is elected a lot of people are going to find out that there's not as much difference between the two as they thought. The border situation will improve greatly, although I seriously doubt Trump has the attention span to figure out how to deport the illegals that have already been let in...that sounds a lot like "We're going to build a wall, and it's going to be a Yuge wall, and Mexico is going to pay for it."
No, he'll clamp down on the border and that will be a help, and that almost certainly won't happen under Harris. We won't have nearly the headaches with foreign policy that we have now, and that's important (although if you really think we're inches away from "WWIII," then we still will be under Trump. Any country willing to engage in that sort of campaign will still be willing to do it regardless of who our president is.)
Not much else will change. Biden made a lot of noise about eliminating fossil fuel use, but has failed miserably to live up to that promise...he's actually granted more drilling leases at this point than Trump did at the same point in his presidency, and the US is producing more oil than we did at the same point in Trump's presidency. In fact, in 2023 we set a new record for domestic oil production, topping the previous record set in 2022. So that has nothing to do with where we are economically.
The biggest bummer for a lot of people if Trump is elected is going to be finding out how much Trump's trade tariffs (now the Trump-Biden tariffs, since it was such a swell leftist idea that Biden kept them) are responsible for groceries being so high. Which he has promised to increase if elected this time.
Biden did increase the money supply even more than Trump, but it's not like Trump isn't also a spendthrift.
Bottom line, we were looking at inflation no matter who was POTUS after COVID. Biden did things to aggravate the situation, but not nearly as many as people think and not nearly to the degree that people think...or I should say, not nearly as much worse than Trump as people think.
It's not going to magically reverse itself if Trump is elected. That would be true even if he did everything right, which he's not going to do.
Will that mean we have to eat bugs to survive? Of course not.
We have problems that need to be addressed, but we're still—and will remain—the most prosperous country on the planet with the greatest opportunity for the most people and the highest standard of living in recorded history, and that's not going to change no matter who wins this election.
The populist doomsday nonsense has got to go. It's a much greater threat than anything else.

It is simply a matter of not having to take responsibility for your actions. This is what drives most Democrap policy.

They perceive it as crusty white guys controlling their bodies. This will never change.

Sacrificing children is evil and as old as time itself. The same evil spirit enticing people to sacrifice children to Molech in the Old Testament is the same evil spirit pushing the abortion issue today.
God said , "there's nothing new under the sun."
God isn't wrong, ever.

It’s considered a magnet issue for Dem voters by the party. Combine that with the perceived abortion ban and you get the abortion parades and tributes we’re seeing.

This, exactly. Old White religious zealots controlling women. They're making comparisons to Texas being a 'christian Afghanistan'.

This is a great response. I wish a lot more people believed what you are saying.

it's quite simple: they are demonic satan worshippers and murdering is one of their sacraments
and there's not a gram of hyperbole in that statement

Thanks, and me too.
But populism has taken people over and caused them to go insane.

You have both conflated and exaggerated
separate supposed problems in your premise. Strict abortion laws threaten the health of half the population. That’s a big deal.

I just do not understand how the issue of abortion resonates with Democrats.
It's about who controls your body. Do republican politicians control your body, or do you control it?
I can't understand why republicans want to cede control over the basic questions of family planning and bodily integrity to the state. If you tolerate the state controlling your body and your reproduction, you have given absolute power to the state.

The point is that men are in charge. They would not put up with being forced to be pregnant. They would legalize abortion and there would be a planned parenthood on every corner.
I heard your point loud & clear, reality does not match up mate.
For starters, why do the men in charge continue to allow paternity fraud??

Lucky for her mismanagement, she can travel somewhere else that meets her needs.
That's why having State's Right's on this issue is the best option. The option someone wants can always be found.
