They cut a lot of budget at the IRS…

We should have leaders who make sure the website is working

So people can have jobs preparing them…

And also because there are many loopholes in the tax code.

i hate the irs too.

Those MFers sent me a check equal to our quarterly payment, with no explanation. It seemed suspicious. We cashed it, and put it in savings. Seven months later, the IRS said they erred, and we owed them the amount they fricking sent us, with interest and penalties.

ALL taxes need to be collected at cash register

There can be an income tax but it should be maybe a quarter of what it is. And it should come out of a paycheck. Employers should collect no income taxes and payroll taxes shouldn’t exist. If everyone had to write a quarterly check of four or five figures to the government, I think the problem of high taxes would correct itself at the polling booth. And everyone has skin in the game. The poor bastard earning $50k a year should pay the same percentage as someone making $500k.

How else do you create loopholes that only some know about while everyone else gets fricked?

My favorite thing is when those people try to pretend like they fight the IRS.

You would start collecting taxes from 20 million illegals that way, in addition to another 50-100 million Amercicans who are milking social programs.

The IRS requires an identity protection PIN number to efile.

No they don't. You only need one if the IRS has issued you one (for example your SSN was compromised) or you opted in to the IP PIN program. It can be used as another layer of fraud prevention.

But yes, they can be a PITA.

Government should be funded via use fees. If the government provides a service, and you use it, then you pay a fee for it. Otherwise, you pay nothing.

Keep in mind that would mean that you couldn't drive on a public road unless you paid a fee.

I've done some reading on anarcho-capitalism. A system under which everything is privatized, including services that government provides for us today. The only problem with that is it requires everyone to be kind, fair and honest.

RS website where you get a PIN isn't working.

And how long have you known you needed a PIN? You sound like my 23 year old niece. Wait until the last minute figuring everything will go just fine.

Lol yep!! Literally as I was making this response I finally got a human at the irs after being on hold all am.

Someone claimed our kids as dependents so I couldn’t efile.

If your return is rejected you get 5 days or 10 days (can’t remember which applies when) to refile or mail.

ChatGPT told me we had to take boys in to office for PINs. Representative said they probably won’t require that.

Abolish this shite. It is an inordinate amount of work just to keep the money we earn. (Eta: and pay a huge chunk of it to be wasted.)

I was especially amused when I paid sales tax on the SC and GA efile fee. You pay taxes to pay taxes.

Have you ever dealt with QBI, bonus depreciation, apportionment, threading needles between traditional IRA deduction MAGI limits and direct Roth MAGI limits and recharacterizations? What about keeping daily time logs for REPS? And calculating average nightly rental stays for hospitality status v regular rentals?
Just a small sample of the bullshite I go through just to make sure I’m paying the right amount.

Good luck with that argument. The courts have ruled against that argument and sent people to prison everytime. Federal income taxes are never going away.
