Even if you think this exception should be allowed, why would you want someone you love to live with that guilt for the rest of their lives on top of having to live with the memory of this terrible thing that happened to them?

Why would you not want them to make that decision for themselves?

Why? Even if it is 1% why not take care of that from the onset?

They can go to another state.

I understand the pro abortion position completely when I look at it from the other perspective. If you don't think its alive at that point, who cares?
And I fully understand and respect the religious argument.

If you truly believe that 16 cells have a "soul" and that Original Sin will send that soul to Hell (or maybe Purgatory) if someone kills those cells before baptism (or maybe before "being saved"), how can you EVER justify imposing such an awful penalty upon an innocent "soul."

I can think that is mystical, superstitious nonsense all day, and still respect you for sincerely holding a consistent belief and acting upon it.

Well because abortion is murder. If she wanted to kill her rapist, I'd never ever convict. Killing an innocent person is not acceptable.

Why should this be the only crime where you're allowed to choose to kill an innocent person because someone else committed a crime against you?

If they had abortion for pregnancy due to incest in Alabama then the state would have a very low birth rate.

If the issue is whether or not a mother can kill her child when she's pregnant, then the circumstances about how that child was conceived shouldn't matter.

You don't understand personal responsibility.

I understand the belief, but not imposing that upon others if that's your only reasoning for passing a law about it.

You're going to encourage false accusations of rape. That's why.

Death, imo. The people who believe killing an unborn child is an acceptable response to rape should surely be okay with killing the actual rapist.

Incest I completely don't understand. Rape is tough because how do you actually legislate that? The fetus will probably be born by the time our legal system catches and convicts actual rapists, and it's always such a tough crime to prove. It could result in a ton of false accusations.

Don't take that as me not supporting the exception, I one hundred percent do as the bare minimum, but legislatively it's not as easy as just saying rape shouldn't count.

People are concerned with this, but not the increase in poverty and crime that is about to occur because of abortion bans?

You don't like immigration because its a bunch of poor people and criminals causing a drain on the country? Well buddy, now the call is coming from inside the house.

Slut-I want an abortion.

Doc-You're 20 weeks into pregnancy so I can't give you one unless you were raped.

Slut-I was raped by Johnny.

See where that goes?

Sure, I can see that happening in the case of incest and sexual assault of a minor.

It's funny you think this is a gotya. Again, I don't even agree with abortion bans, but damn you need to craft a better argument.

So Johnny, at a minimum, having to defend himself against a false rape claim is all good for you as long as you can have abortion?

If I was creating an exception for rape, I think I would start my law on reporting a rape.

I don't think its a got-ya, I just know this board and know people will be complaining about crime, poverty, and welfare in the future and they need to understand that this is going to be part of it.
