Truth is Don Jr is a partner in a private equity group that has over 1000 employees and almost $4T under management. Whatever these govt contracts are they are not going to any direct compensation of the Trumps. They are just one of thousands of contracts in a private equity firms portfolio that I doubt that Don Jr even controls.
So yes he is making money as is everyone else in the firm but this is less than 0.2% of their holdings...

Look, I call a spade a spade in terms of investment and business.
Paul Pelosi, for example, made millions and millions off of trades which superficially appeared suspicious in timing. As it turns out, many were long term option positions set to expire if he did not cash them, and virtually impossible to corruptly time out given inside DC info. They were just good calls. Once one takes the time to actually look into the stuff, sometimes headlines are VERY misleading.
The same was true of Kelly Loeffler supposedly profiteering off of COVID by selling a ton in her portfolio in advance of the COVID market declines. A couple of tiny little details were pertinent. (1) The fund in question was a blind trust, and (2) the sells were "PutOptions" ... meaning they were options for others to short sell the sh*t out of her in a market crash. At the same time I was actually locking in profits pre-CV19-decline in my holdings, Loeffler's portfolio manager was doing the opposite. In contrast to the dude "gaming" off of insider info, it was the most blindly stupid approach, given CV19 market risks, I could imagine.
I literally know nothing about this Trump transaction. I've not looked at it. It may be nefarious as hell. But the headline you are infatuated with is ridiculous! Cite the PERSONAL benefits. Or cite the suspicious DOD bid process you thing the Trump brothers influenced, etc.
