So MAGA is doing the bidding of the GOPE now?

Mighty fine addition to pushing the "Deep State" in Venezuela and Iran.

I did not have MAGA/Trump simping for the GOPE and "Deep State" on my 2026 bingo card

All these job losses and we are still under 5% unemployment or what is considered FULL EMPLOYMENT

I don't think Iran is going to be a big mover in 2026 but if it's still an issue by 2028 the GOP and MAGA are going to get slaughtered for it.

I agree with this.

I think the majority of Americans, including some who voted for Harris, are ok with us taking out the Iran leadership if it turns into Iranians forcing their government to be not as much of an aggressive threat in the Middle East and go back to its pre-radical Islam days.

But what a majority of Americans don't want is us to still be engaged in military action over there for several years.

Bro, we already have a political party in this country that thinks boys can be girls, and girls can be boys, and are totally fine with them mutilating their genitals. This same party wants a wide open border and for you to not be able to protect yourself with a gun. This same party also wants to tax you even higher.

Then there is the other party. A party that is actively covering for cannibalistic pedophiles. This party does everything it's told to do from a foreign government because they are either bought and paid for or they are blackmailed from their own wrong doing.

NEITHER PARTY GIVES A frick ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, PERIOD. This country is already dead.

Ballot boxes mean nothing. If anyone thinks things are going to change for the better as a result of an election then they are fricking retarded.

Immigration policy has been solid though most want to see higher deportation numbers

Immigration implementation has been a loud, messy, contentious shitshow producing lower deportations than the Obama or Biden admins + head of DHS was just removed.

This bit is one of the most abject failures of the entire admin. LOTS of red meat, angst, and money — all just to be really fricking inefficient.

They really don’t. Citizens killed any life for actual populism, and US populism will remain dead until that shite is reversed. People might vote like populists, but they’re just chasing empty promises as usual.

Where did this random twitter account get this information? The article link (where I'm supposed to be able to see "more") only says exactly what the tweet says.

After Noem-gate yesterday you'd think you would be slow on the trigger here

CNBC: U.S. payrolls unexpectedly fell by 92,000 in February; unemployment rate rises to 4.4%

quote:

The U.S. economy lost jobs in February, a month marred by severe winter weather and a strike at a major health care provider, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.

Nonfarm payrolls fell by 92,000 for the month, compared to the estimate for 50,000 and below the downwardly revised January total of 126,000. February marked the third time in the past five months that payrolls declined, following a sharp revision showing a drop of 17,000 in December.

quote:

At the same time, the unemployment rate edged higher to 4.4% as jobs declined across key areas. A broader measure of unemployment that includes discouraged workers and those holding part-time positions for economic reasons moved lower, at 7.9% or 0.2 percentage point below the January level.

I think Iran has helped boost the GOP for now. It just doesn’t need to turn into boots on the ground and a long dragged out war

Hasn't government also been downsized? Most of these jobs numbers are probably related to many scandalous entities receiving government funds shutting down.

Yes but this report showed significant private job losses. Starting to cut into muscle instead of fat.

Unless the deportations were putting lots of companies out of business, they should have the opposite effect.

It's likely tariffs and AI.

The party in power normally gets killed in the midterms. The country is not dead but par for the course.

Anyone with a brain knows the labor market is not with the administration has been beating it's chest over. It's been stagnant for the last 6 months now.

Information services, a sector hit by artificial intelligence-related cuts, also lost jobs, down 11,000 as part of a 12-month trend in which the sector has lost an average of 5,000 per month. Manufacturing saw a loss of 12,000, despite tariffs aimed at reshoring jobs from overseas.

Federal government employment also fell, off 10,000 for the month. President Donald Trump’s efforts to pare federal payrolls has seen a slide of 330,000 jobs, or 11% of the total workforce, since October 2024, a few months before Trump took office, according to the BLS.

Transportation and warehousing also saw a reduction of 11,000. Social assistance was one of the few sectors posting a gain, up 9,000.

Government jobs are a part of this...a small part

And these are lots of white collar jobs having no overlap with immigration-affected areas.
