How much does wiping out the DOE resonate with Libertarians and RFK Jr supporters?

Also, shouldn't people here who claim to be anti-government from both sides (like WaltWhite504 claims) be jumping through hoops to support the guy wanting to get rid of bureaucrats?

It would be a dream come true, and a good start.

in principle I agree, but we need to fix the problem of American History and Civics that DOE has destroyed first.

He will be here supporting it once it is Kamala’s position.
As much fun as it’s been to bang the media for its 180
On no tax on tips I bet our liberals here have some tasty post about it

Decentralizing education will be great at stopping wholesale control of what the students are subjected to. Can't wait to see the changes in curriculum of red stated when that happens.

It's a giant goal of ours. Problem is, Trump is authoritarian on many other matters. And often lies about things he's going to do when he gets elected. So that's not holding much value to us Libertarians.
''Hey, I'll end the DOE, while also printing even more money''.
This link really explains it.
LINK
Just one example
During his campaign, Trump said he was “in favor of medical marijuana 100 percent,” and that recreational marijuana policy should be left to the states. On that issue, he sounded moderately libertarian. Once elected, Trump appointed Sen. Jeff Sessions as attorney general. Sessions promptly rescinded the Barack Obama–era Cole Memorandum, a directive from former Deputy Attorney General James Cole that had effectively prevented the federal government from initiating marijuana prosecutions in states that had legalized cannabis.
On March 19, Trump first called for the death penalty to be used against some drug dealers. Sessions took the cue and ran with it.
”At the Department of Justice, we have made ending the drug epidemic a priority,” Sessions said. “We will continue to aggressively prosecute drug traffickers and we will use federal law to seek the death penalty wherever appropriate.”

There are 2 DOEs....Education and Energy. Wipe out both. We did fine before they were created.

Go ahead and strip out tenure from college professors while we’re at it. That’s where a lot of brainwashing comes from.

I'm all for eliminating the Dept of Education. I have been since Reagan said it in the 80s.
But let's be real. The Department of Education will never be eliminated. This is just for the campaign.
It's just not going to happen.

Needs a filibuster-proof majority or serious concessions. I’m not sure the political capital to accomplish justifies the outcome.

DOE? ... sure thing, ... but only if your take the FBI with you

I'm not sure it should be completely scrapped, but should be retooled. There are many protections in place that Congress has implemented and pushes the executive branch to handle. The DOE needs federal oversight to ensures each state implements those protection laws. The problems is the DOE just ignores them.
They seem to focus on teacher protection over student protection. Their mission is skewed. I can see a major Chevron lawsuit helping to retool and refocus the DOE. They need to be much smaller, but not wiped off the map.

a. DOE being eliminated is good policy
b. The DOE isn't that powerful or significant in the big picture
c. He's not going to do it

This absolutely shouldn’t be done by the feds.

Aren’t you the one that comes up with that stupid fuking narrative about cutting spending, every time a tax cut is mentioned? Well obliterating a dept will cut spending. If he doesn’t do it, it will be because enough of your ilk gets in the way.

I bring it up routinely, regardless of discussing tax cuts or not

Already covered. See sub-part b in my response.

It won't be my "ilk"

Keeping that department around won’t help your cause. Cancer can’t magically be changed into something beneficial. There’s only one option - you gotta get rid of it.

What's more likely is that Trump would just strip it of much of its funding and maybe appoint a secretary who will make major cuts from within. Even that is far fetched though. Government never voluntarily relinquishes power.
