I believe it will be Romney. Think of it this way, maybe it's a good idea to have a statesman in a prominent position in this administration.

I'm as angry as anybody at Mittens but, it was politics. You can't hold grudges against your own people

no - he is a businessman that did a good job running an incredibly liberal state - YES, he is "establishment"

But I think he'd be a team player and would not take the position unless he was committed to agressively advocating Trump's foreign policy

He is not a weasel in the same vein as Kasich (who I supported - frick Kasich)

Russia might be our biggest enemy, but China is our largest threat in the future IMO. Jim Webb is dead on on that topic and shifting resources and emphasis to Asia.

Secretary Romney is damn near imminent at this point barring some unforeseen new player.

Reince and the GOPe players wouldn't allow Mitt to go through what has been essentially a two week hazing ritual if they didn't get some signal from Trump that he will pick Mitt.

It's just pathetic how aggrieved southern white guys are hating on someone who has been a dame fine conservative governor we would kill for here in Louisiana.

He has the right going against Scalia, the USSC, and the Constitution on burning a fricking flag.

They won't give a shite.

I agree with this 100%

and I also agree with what I THINK Trump believes, there is no reason for Russia to be an enemy moving forward

Romney oppossed his own people (Republican nominee) in the general election. He never quit. He did everything that he could throughout the general to defeat Trump.

Scalia said, in the SC ruling, that flag burning should is protected speech. Stupid, but protected.

I think he may be leading Romney on, only to deny him a place at the trough as revenge for his early nevertrump frickery

You can have her. She is a self promoting fraud that will jump on anything that will enable her to achieve her goal: Beltway GOPe DC.

If this board is any indication, doubtful. Trump has openly bragged that he could murder someone on Fifth Avenue and that his supporters wouldn't leave him. Appointing Mitt Romney won't lose literally any of these mouth breathers.

Mitt Romney on the other hand would put liberals onto Trump's side. I think liberals have acknowledged that they made a gigantic mistake when demonizing a moderate like Mitt Romney, and it would do a lot to get the left on his side.

Romney I think is indisputably the best choice for SoS.

I was being an a-hole - I admit it

so I will say this, we all know that Hillary Clinton actually introduced a bill to outlaw flag burning; right?

So, yes, he "went against Scalia's decision" and he advocated a position that is contrary to a SCOTUS ruling - does not equate to "going against Scalia" insofar as his opinions on the judiciary as a whole

and my comment was an overreaction - so I apologize

Bolton is literally the worst choice possible. Anyone who chooses a Bolton as a right hand man deserves to be stabbed in the chest.

He did what he thought was right against his own self interests. I think that speaks to him more being a quality human being.

After listening to Hannity last night. I'm convinced that if Trump (a) picks Romney and (b) doesn't continue the Clinton investigation, he will have gotten his last blowjob from Sean Hannity.

Bolton will not hesitate to stand up to America's enemies. I cannot say the same for some of the other names I am hearing, though I am hopeful about Romney.
