Absolutely. Doesn't make him any more or less correct. It's a stupid position.
I want another Scalia. Some of the stuff he has said makes me a little nervous that we won't get that. This being the latest example.

Quality human being. Wonder what he is going to say when his grandchildren ask him if he served in the Trump Administration? You know like when he said what he would be able to say when his grandchildren asked him what he did to stop Donald Trump from being President? Remember his answer. I guess Mittens has suddenly had a change of heart toward Trump. Mitt is a Trumpkin!!

Wouldn't be my choice but I certainly can understand the master chess and the long play on this.
Mitt's a bitch and snake in the grass, get his clique of weirdo Mormoms and cucklicans to STFU for a few years and work to get his legislation passed and not be a burr in the saddle throughout his presidency.
Romney's people seem to be more in touch in what is happening in Geo-politics and won't be puppets of Arab oil states.
The trade off is probably worth the risk of bringing Romney into the fold.
The deal w/ Haley is a masterful play as it opens up SC's governor office for Gowdy and it aligns her triflin' arse with the worthless U.N. which we will undoubtedly assault and in the coming years and reduce our contribution until the UN cleans it's own swamp and other nations contribute fairly.

I hope that you are right on this. But I read somewhere that Tim Scott was going to run for governor.

Mitt would make a hell of a lot better SOS than freaking John Kerry

If Romney is sincere and won't try to undermine Trump I could possibly get on board with it. I am wary that if he is selected he might try to be Mitt Romney's SOS. I know why Trump is doing it, he is trying to neutralize Romney from being a constant pain in his arse during his administration.

By being the Secretary of State? Next to the President, the Speaker of the House, and the Senate Majority Leader, that is the most powerful position in the US. And hell I'd debate that the later two are less powerful. That makes Romney insanely powerful.
The only reason I can see negating his power is Trump being nervous he'd run on the Democratic ticket against him in 2020.

Romney will help in the attempt to win over those liberal bubble people.

SecState isn't any more powerful than SecDef.

To be fair, who the frick are the Democrats going to run against him in 2020? They don't have anyone worth a shite under 65 in that party now. I think they have to run a moderate Republican in the name of their party in 2020.

Nah. They think Romney is a racist, elite, neo con. And the true MAGA Republicans think he's an establishment sellout. He can't win with Romney, which is why I hope he picks him.

if they have any sense they will run Jim Webb
but they don't (have any sense)
TBH; Michelle Obama looks like their most viable option right now - would not surprise me if she winds up running

Ugh. I'm not really excited by that. I mean I like her but as president? Nah I'm good.
I think you'll see Cory booker run.

I think the VP and his people really are pushing for Mitt here and it would be a fence mender with the old guard part of the base.
He better not stab us all in the back if he gets it is all I have to say....

Romney would be his best pick yet. Like him or not, the man knows how to run organizations and would be a fine top diplomat.
