The overwhelming majority of my friends are attorneys, so while I'll get that kind of bullshite emotional kneejerk, even my most liberal friends generally come around to thinking that I don't actually want people to die in the streets

you support Trump?

I have indulged a friend with "Pity Posts" for some time now with the hope that his deluded rants about Trump would end.

I was wrong.

Today, he jumped the shark and implied that my family, my friends, and I were racists because we may support Trump.

Sorry, I don't take that from anybody. Just curious how many others have seen this extreme form of vile come from "friends" .

None. I have a few friends and family members who are big Bernie Sanders fans, but we aren't immature enough to let differing political opinions sour good friendships.I am actually able to have good debates with them about why Bernies big ideas are not feasible and Trump issues without it devolving into arguements.

But then again, I actually associate with adults and not tempertantrum throwing children

After some initial taunting after Hillary's beautiful political demise, I stopped talking about politics. I decided to let people wallow in their own insanity and leave me out of it. Why borrow crazy?

I've been called "racist." I've also been called "a-hole," "****," "****," "cracker," "bitch, "dick, "nutsack," "count," "douchebag," "poopie head." Oh no. Somebody said a word at me. Reply with "and?" or "frick off, loser" or any number of things. I'm not seeing the problem here. If your friend wants to stop being your friend because you don't support open borders, frick them.

It's not about being friends.

It's about taking the insanity to such low levels by saying things that are vile. It's a breakdown in basic civility.

I expect this type of behavior from children and women. I don't expect it from otherwise responsible men.

My "feelings" aren't hurt. I know who and what I am and don't let others define me. I was simply asking if others had experienced similar experiences. If so, the barbarians are getting closer to the gates, IMO.

Same thing happened to me.

"Good ole boy" liberal from a small town in Arkansas that's about 99.9% white, he called me a racist the last time we talked. I'd never cared that he was a liberal (I have respect for classic liberals, just not dipshit leftists), and so we'd been friends for about 7 years or so. Then came the conversation that ended our friendship, just general accusations of "Trump supporter = racist" with zero specific conversation about any race topics.

Bye. I don't miss his friendship. And I certainly wasn't the first one of some other friends of mine who bailed on his stupid arse.

He's the type that cares about going to Arkansas Democrat party functions and parties and getting his ego stroked by hobnobbing with influential Arkansas Bill Clinton/Jim Jones Society looney birds.

One attempt at explaining these people... They all grew up hating the Baptist church, probably because of the way some First Baptist types can be. Even though other Baptist church folks or other general Christian folks are often not the haughty "First Baptist" types (and I get that; I'd like to punch several First Baptists in the face myself), these lefties take that to generalize and hate on all Christians.

It paints their worldview. Many or most of them even use this bias to convince themselves there's no God at all. Or they convince themselves to never consider the evidence for God, so their minds never move past the 30 yard line of life so to speak.

Bingo! That is a valid conclusion, IMO.

This board seems to be obsessed with race as there are so many posts about it on a daily basis. However, I don't think being a Trump supporter makes one a racist. And I don't think the right wing supporters on this board are necessarily racist, although I am sure there are a few. More precisely, I would call them members of the "white victimhood" crowd. Live, let live, and move on. It works every time.

Same here. The average person is too retarded to discuss religion or politics.

white leftists are the biggest racists on the planet

They truly believe they indirectly own "people of color"

I do believe the overuse of racism as an accusation is caused by some level of projection.

never called a racist, but I was accused of being a mysogenist and rape enabler when I called out a former jock baw turned soy boy (married a SJW) that was clutching his pearls over the Billy Bush "Locker Room Talk" comments. I was like,"brah, I remember the crap you used to say in the locker room. You've got no room to talk." Dude then started trying to take my comments out of context, summarize them in his own words, then put them in quotes as if they were my words, and then post them to my facebook wall. Thankfully, most people saw through what he was doing, but sadly, several old friends didn't. They blocked and unfriended me and I was forced to block that a-hole.

One friend and business associate who I’ve known for nearly 20 years, and never really talked politics with, out of the blue started telling me how much he disliked Trump and how many difficult positions Trump has put him in.

I keep politics away from business, and that’s most of the relationship now, so I didn’t ask questions and let the topic die.
