My first gf in NYC was Canadian and this was back at the time their healthcare system was first socialized. It worked great for little while as all of the private medical equipment and staff was still in place within the system, but that melted away pretty quickly as rationing, poor reinvestment, and staff departures stripped it to the bone.

Now Canadians who really need medical care quip, "My dogs and cats get better care."

Yukon sends them to Juneau...

Yep.
Even Windsor Ontario, just South of Detroit. Big city few hundred thousand. They send people for heart bypasses etc to Detroit.

Canadian healthcare is a disaster.

Imagine here, with our fatter, more drug addicted populace.

Even in shitty ol’Arkansas, I can get one in a day or two. Sooner if symptoms suggest an acute need, like as soon as you can get there soon.

Unless you have United Healthcare. I can still get it, you’ll either have to pay cash or wait though.

Canadians contribute to healthcare costs indirectly through taxes, with estimates suggesting the average family pays around $14,000-$17,000 annually, while single individuals contribute around $5,000-$6,000.

I had a friend in Canada 20 years ago who's kidneys were failing. They didn't know why.. she'd been seeing her doctor about it for several years and they didn't have a clue... GP, the nearest specialist was 12 hours away and had an ungodly wait list.
She would drive 6 hours every 6 months for her do tor appointment and they'd give her a different pill to try and schedule another appointment in 6 months.

I told her that if she came to America she could see a specialist within a week... But it's free in Canada.
Haven't heard from her in years, I assume she passed.

The secret to “government healthcare “ is that they control costs by limiting service. Inherent in that planning is the knowledge that this will kill X number of people, and its cheaper to bury them than treat them. Thats the “compassion” of single payer.

How is that different than insurance company math done by our system?

I thought Aca was going to lower healthcare costs?

Just made it more expensive and now your doctor works for a corporation.

The government can’t even put the right mail in the numbered box. Let’s let them run healthcare.

Oh and about those immigrants. You’d have to stop letting them in or crash the system. You can’t put 20 million jobless homeless people on free healthcare plans.

That’s why I always laugh at libtards when they tout government healthcare.

Hey libtards, nothing is free. Taxpayers are paying for it.

Maybe double or triple that, at least, depending on which insurance company the provider has decided to play make-pretend prices with.

Broke my big toe today. Went to the walk in an hour before it closed, they had me out of there with an xray within 15 minutes. I know xray is not a MRI, but damn if it wasn’t a quick visit.

Canada sucks.
