Yet we subsidize all those countries healthcare and how many of them send their physicians to the USA for training?

I live in one of those checkmates and can confirm, it f**king sucks.

“Universal healthcare” at a minimum (just the health component of my tax deductions) costs me 4x as much as the absolute worst case medical situation I could face back in the US, deductibles and out of pocket max included

Beyond cost, the care itself is dogshit. Doctors are the kind I’d expect in the third world since anyone worth anything has followed the money elsewhere. Wait times are absurd, took 11 hours to be seen in an emergency room. A simple ear infection turned into a hospitalization because they’d rather prescribe aspirin that simple antibiotics.

I’ve resigned to the fact that if coronavirus makes It here I will likely die

I’ve spent too many hours in a waiting room in Atlanta surrounded by Canadians to fall for that.
And I’ve had the free version of healthcare while on active duty. Spoiler alert... it fricking sucks

No, it shouldn't, and no, it's not. Many in this thread have already explained why.

Healthcare requires the service of humans. You are not entitled to the service of someone else.

It can be argued that universal healthcare is good and virtuous and righteous and efficient and anything else you might want to argue, but the idea that it is a human right is absurd.

How many of those countries have a population over 300 million and where half of it's citizens pay $0 in taxes?

The military protection offered by the US has allowed these countries to drastically expand social programs to the edge of socialism. They have no requirement to invest in defense. Why doesn't anyone think of this? This fact makes our situation in The US far different than those countries cited.

Ehhhhhhh the Swiss model is not as universal as Bernie may think. The German model, out of all of them is the least intrusive.....and the physicians make money.

and the fact they wont admit is every person from those countries would sell their mothers for the chance to come here and get decent healthcare because they (government) decides if you get surgery or life saving medicines based on costs and not you

Are you a medical Dr.?
Do you believe in slavery? If it is free, who are you going to force to pay for the service?
What else do you believe is a human right? Food, transportation, clothing?

I did the required visits and paperwork when I left active duty to document my jacked up knee and shoulder, and I haven't been back since. That experience alone was all I needed to know.

As I've said before, the actual medical practitioners were professional, super nice, and you could tell they really cared.

Now the bureaucracy? Holy frick I've never been treated like I was such an inconvenience and annoyance in my life. Not to mention they lost my paperwork not once, not twice, but three fricking times. Thank god I knew to have multiple copies of everything.

Now imagine that "care" on a national scale.

If anything that just shows where our priorities are. It's a huge accomplishment. But it shows that we use our wealth on frivolous pursuits.

We would rather one up somebody instead of doing something that would be beneficial to all citizens.

Ask anybody at NASA or SpaceX how often lunar travel is committed each year versus its cost.

Y'all just make shite up. I can make shite up to. Eating is a human right. Sex is a human right. Drinking is a human right. Reliable transportation to a hospital is a human right. Now give them to me.

It's cute you think space exploration isn't beneficial to all citizens.
