Per Nancy Mace.
—-
A coalition of House Democrats and Republicans defeated a push on Wednesday to ban SNAP beneficiaries from using Food Stamps to purchase sugary drinks like soda.
In a 237-to-287 vote, the House blocked an amendment to the farm bill by Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) banning Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits from being used to purchase soda.
"The House just voted against banning soda from SNAP," Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) said in a post on X. Why should the government fund your soda purchases?

It shouldn't.
And states can do it anyway.

Obesity is a very serious problem and tax dollars shouldn’t be spent on items that cause more health issues that leads to more money spent by taxpayers on medical bills. SNAP should be in place to help you survive not supplement your income and keep you comfortable. You can address multiple problems at the same time.

Could an executive order ban soda and junk food from SNAP?

Do you enjoy your tax dollars being spent on someone’s soda habit and future medical bills?
