Judge should have ordered on the spot. We have a law called RIGHT TO TRY.

A Fairfield Township woman continued her fight Thursday to try and keep her husband alive.Jeffrey Smith, 51, is in the intensive care unit at UC West Chester Hospital. Smith was diagnosed with COVID-19 on July 9. He was admitted into the hospital six days later and has been on a ventilator for 33 days. His wife, Julie Smith, wants him to be treated with the controversial drug Ivermectin.Doctors at the hospital have refused to treat him with the drug. Last month, Julie Smith got a temporary order from Butler County Common Pleas Judge Gregory Howard. He ordered doctors to administer the drug, but that order only lasted 14 days.Thursday, Julie Smith and attorneys for UC West Chester returned to court to argue the case again. This time in front of Judge Michael Oster.Julie Smith said despite her husband being treated with Remdesivir, steroids and plasma, his condition continued to decline. She said she read articles in other cases where COVID-19 patients’ conditions reportedly improved after being given Ivermectin. “It just gave me hope there was something to try, that I didn’t just have to sit there and let him die. That I could fight,” Julie Smith said.Even after getting a prescription from Dr. Fred Wagshul, a pulmonologist out of Centerville, doctors and UC West Chester refused to treat Jeffrey Smith with Ivermectin. They only did so after they were court-ordered, but since it was a temporary order, the case was back in court. The hospital continues to fight the treatment.”Numerous health organizations including the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have warned against using Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID 19,” said Charles Galvin, attorney for UC West Chester. “The court ordered this hospital to use a suspect, experimental, off label and discouraged treatment without any competent medical evidence.” Attorneys for the Smiths argued Ivermectin appears to be working on Jeffrey Smith. “Over the last three days, his vent setting has dropped. Before Ivermectin, his vent setting was at 100 percent. His vent setting has now dropped to 50 percent,” said Ralph Lorigo, Smiths’ attorney.Judge Oster has not ruled on the case. He asked all parties to return to court Friday morning at 9 a.m.

At this point, the judge should put the hospital on the stand and demand who amd why is ordering this stoppage.
I know that isn't how law works put yall get the premise

If my relative dies, especially after that improvement, I would consider that premeditated murder. The recommended treatment clearly did not work.
The naysayers can come running, but if the improvement reverses after the ivermectin is stopped, there is no squirming out of that. I would clearly consider it cold blooded murder for political purposes.

So y’all are OK with judges being doctors now too?

I'm ok with judges telling doctors to administer drugs that have been proven safe that they refuse to prescribe due to politics.

Someone is trying very hard to keep Ivermectin from being used for COVID treatment. I don't know whether it works or not, although there's a lot of anecdotal evidence that it does; however, I haven't seen any evidence of it actually causing harm. My guess is that the pharmaceutical companies are working on changing the formulation enough to get a new patent so that they can charge $1,000/dose for it. The medical community seems to hate cheap meds.

The patient's doctor was being a doctor. The judge ordered hospital admins who were being pharma shills to follow the doctor's orders.
At this point I would probably forgive a sheriff for enforcing the judge's order at gunpoint.

whoa
This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the role of doctors.
For those discussing how disappointed they are in doctors, look to this post. This is a doctor who thinks his role is to be the gatekeeper for whether someone gets treatment.

Doctors at the hospital have refused to treat him with the drug.

In the complaint, Julie stated that her husband had been on a ventilator for 19 days after attempts to use treatments like Remdesivir, plasma and steroids.
That's when she stated she sought medical advice from their physician Dr. Fred Wagshul. In the complaint, it states Wagshul supported the use of Ivermectin and prescribed it to him. After the hospital refused to administer the treatment, Julie filed the complaint. LINK

Remdesivir
There have been known issue with this drug affecting organs and causing damage. People go in with a mild case and low 02 get put on Remdesivir and go into organ failure and end up on a vent. Especially vulnerable are the kidneys. It is on EUA for covid and is expensive hell.
There is a friends husband fighting for his life. Was given Remdesivir and subsequently went into organ failure. Is now on a vent and has been in ICU for 27 days. He's 47....
Yet a perfectly safe drug is being kept from a person on a vent for 33 days.
Try fricking something else.

Govt and hospitals need the virus, not a cure.

Article in OP is from Sept 3. As of an hour ago the judge denied the request.

He needs to be moved to a different hospital.

This pisses me off as much as anything else in the article. Friday? The guy could be dead by Friday.

Holy shite! Good Lord we are dumb arse nation!

Wow, it’s like I predicted this. Judge cannot force 4 different levels of licensed professionals without pending a suit against each individual.
