Will we survive? Yes.
Will there be pain and inflation? Also yes.
Short-term pain, long-term gain.

Amazon has reportedly canceled some orders for products made in China as the Asian nation and the U.S. continue to face off in a trade war over tariffs.

Amazon canceled orders for beach chairs, scooters, air conditioners and other products from multiple vendors based in China and other Asian countries, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a document reviewed by the news site and people familiar with the matter.

The orders were canceled after President Donald Trump announced tariffs on China and more than 180 other countries and territories on April 2, Bloomberg reported.

USA has always had the upper hand and always will. China can't feed its population.

from friday afternoon-
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/white-house-tariffs-donald-trump-b2731708.html
quote:

The White House told NBC News that it will not release a list of the countries, despite several requests.

also friday-
https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/white-house-says-s-working-new-trade-deals-s-hiding-countries-names-rcna200885
quote:

The White House press office soon after said it would not disclose the names of the 75 countries. It also wouldn’t say why the list had to be kept secret.

What stupid msm show did you watch to pick up this catch phrase. They buy our debt, wtf does that even mean. A bond is an IOU that must be repaid. And most of our debt is held by Americans not the Chinese.

Now an economic lesson. We buy far more goods from them. They then take the profits and buy our companies, our land, and our politicians. Eventually they own everything......and we have landfills of chinese junk.

This from CNN of all places:

quote:

U.S. manufacturing orders in China are down 40% in what a logistics manager described to CNBC as an unrelenting demand collapse.

Asia-based shipping firm HLS recently told clients it is a “very bad time for the shipping industry.”

Chinese factories are shutting down two weeks earlier than usual ahead of Chinese New Year.

You will note, even with all the front loading of American companies to get around the tariffs, chinis exports barely increased in the first quarter (which means they would have been in decline if not for the artificial bump). In the coming weeks you will see the real picture and it is gonna get ugly quick.

What he means it's that China is more likely to harm its own citizens first. Such as destroying cash crops and making farmers grow rice and soy.

A country running massive chronic trade surpluses will never have the upper-hand in a "tariff situation" ... ever.

Hang in there for another 4-6 weeks. Chinese economy is far too weak, and they risk riots and political turmoil if millions are put out of work. All they doing right now is talking the talk, no possibility they are gonna risk walking walk.

Thing is China is not a billion people working in rice fields anymore. Their people have become accustomed to the modern life as well.

Now the government there has more control but they still would have a problem if a million little mfers take to the streets.

The Americans that aren’t already hooked on their drugs aren’t dependent upon their cheap goods. It’s going to take some resolve for people to fight the need for shopping
