Are you willing to provide some insight into you criticisms that they seemed to pay attention to?
I wrote a letter to the AJC when I was in my early 20s during the height of the “violence in video games” being a cause for shootings and such. My position was this was BS and the home environment was to blame. It was published in the paper…and I still have a copy.

The position was created in 1879. The voters elected someone to fill the position. The Governor eliminated the office after certifying the election results.

I busted out laughing when I read this. My unpublished letter to the editor will be studied in history, er herstory, books for generations to come.

It was a very good letter.

I sure as shite never had Jay Morris on any of my ballots ever. In fact, no one in New Orleans voted for any of the legislators that voted to restructure Orleans Parish Criminal Court. That’s the whole point of the letter.

Serious question not just for OP, but anyone in this thread. Unless a publication does not allow comments (I boycott such publications), why bother writing a letter to the editor. Why not just comment on the article? TP (NOLA.com) allows comments, right?

is the key phrase here.
It doesn't matter when it was created, the voters didn't vote for it to BE created. Therefore when the position was eliminated, it wasn't subverting the will of the voters like your entire argument centers around. They didn't vote for it to be a position in the clerks office. They voted for a list of candidates to fill that already existing position, whether it was created yesterday or 100 years ago.
If Landry were to create a new governmental position tomorrow - say Administrator of Tigerdroppings Relations - and appointed some guy named Kyle who served 4 years. You wouldn't say the next governor "subverted the will of the voters" if he or she eliminated the position shortly after taking office. Your only argument is that it was done shortly after an election, which doesn't matter at all.

You can vote for state reps that have say in the legislature. You are represented. It may not have gone your way, but stop acting like you had no voice.

Who actually uses snail mail these days? Of course a few things need to be done that way. If you want to reach one of your reps, call or email them.

Let me see if I understand. You wouldn’t have been upset if Congress eliminated the position of POTUS after Trump was elected since voters didn’t vote for the creation of the office of POTUS?

I submitted it online.

Did you tell him about fricking a homeless guy and your loss of two wheeled transport?
Probably also left off than a "underprivileged" person dented up her minivan and she just decided to let it go even though not reporting an accident with 500 plus dollars in damage is against the law in Louisana.

I mean, there's a police report.
