It’s based on comments I’ve heard him make in private. It’s certainly not enough to write him off or refuse to vote for him but was enough to make me question his motives and ethics

Thanks for the response. What were the comments? If you have anymore insight on his views I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated by all here.

Strick beliefs ? Public eyes possibly but ex-FBI , had a convenience store in Abita Springs local that was a check cashing and beer joint that had over priced goods praying on the check cashiers that paid extra to cash checks. He could be known as well for chipping away on billing on his construction projects from set quotes . Suspect on how loans were done years back could be looked into . That said he’s better than Humpty Dumpty

The guy is not smart, but he is principled and conservative. I'd take him over most other big name Republicans in the state.

My hope is Sharon Hewitt will run. I think she would be fantastic.

Well she's smart for sure.

Not 100 percent sure how conservative she is - and she's my state senator.

But she absolutely should be in the covnersation and learn more about her

I will vote for any Republican candidate for governor. I like Jeff Landry but I like him in the AG position - I would prefer that he stay there. Also, I would prefer Schroder over Nungessor or Ardoin - HANDS DOWN!

Why hasn't the idiotic GOP moved to a primary system that doesn't split the vote in the primary?

It doesn't matter at all.

We always end up with one Democrat and one Republican in the runoff.

If we ever ended up with 2 Dems in the runoff you would have a point but that does not happen.

He bent the knee to Jindal on anything and everything.

The term does not apply to him imho.

He is, however, still better (in theory) than the penis cheek that we currently have. His silence concerning the overreach of JBE, however, is deafening. Lets just say that he hasn’t done much to have earned my vote.

Just for clarity, I called out Bill Cassidy’s arse and the RINO crew on here REALLY got bent out of shape about it. Shortly after the election they told me that I “wasted my vote“ supporting the welder. I was right about Cassidy.

While I would vote for him reluctantly (a la Rispone) my hope is that a better option runs.

No doubt, but that isn’t saying much.

I don't know about all the issues, but I have the appropriations roll call votes from those 8 years pretty handy and can look it up to verify, but I'd be surprised if he voted for the 4th Floor's budget more than twice during that span. So your statement of "anything and everything" can't be correct.

In fact, it's one of the things the LA Democrat Party failed to acknowledge in 2015 when they tried to portray Vitter as Jindal 2.0 with the budget, because John Bel Edwards voted for the Jindal Administration budgets more times than not during that 8 year span.
