It’s not about demanding soft treatment it’s about being pragmatic. My original post on the matter was not even my personal opinion (I’ve injected some since then), but initially just relaying the sentiment from a Louisiana corporal who spent most of his career pursuing violent gangs and busting up drug operations.
When you have to hit a daily quota, at some point, it gets in the way of prioritizing meaningful shite.
Pragmatism is there is a cost for breaking the rules, even for Jose and his family. If they entered illegally, they have eliminated any possibility for citizenship or even permanent residency. They can get work visas/temporary visas, but they must be non-immigrant visas.
There has to be consequences. They can never erase their decision to break the law.
You provide sympathy but allowing them to stay in the country on a work permit with tight restrictions or they are removed. None of the mir family is eligible to gain any status base in them and any children here illegally will face the same restrictions.
You can be understanding while also still enforcing consequences. The MAGA idiots in the admin and their approach to shock and awe deportation doesn’t erase the facts about these individuals’ choices.

That is an extremely reductive takeaway from
My entire point is nuance. Nuance is the point.
Your responses are not acknowledging or leaving room for nuance.
I think that we should prioritize deporting violent criminals (3rd party prisons are fine here), then clear cut illegals (just send those people back where they came from), then the ones who are just stuck in litigation limbo or lapsed paperwork, seniors etc should just be put on a guided path to citizenship.

We just capped the number of immigration judges we can have in the country, we are passing legislation that makes some legals illegal, and arresting people outside immigration court hearings. People trying to do things the right way.
Just being illegal by itself is a civil offense, and deportation or path to citizenship is fine. But prison in South Sudan isn’t deportation lol.
Citizenship can be cost prohibitive in some of these situations & it’s objectively retarded to compare actual criminals to ppl who just have paperwork issues — or to treat them the same.

Just do it so republicans get credit and immigrants vote Republican for a generation.
I am sure Reagan believed that too.

Of course you do. Your party has the potential to lose a future elections because of mass deportation. That's the bottom line.

No. You aren’t talking nuance. You are exactly the type that enjoys making exceptions. Again, I didn’t say deport Jose. I said Jose has to pay a price for breaking the law. They all broke the law.
You are the one trying to act like he is doing it the “right way” when he literally by any sense broke the law.
Also, stop claiming it is only a civil case. It is an immigration case which is its own court system. That doesn’t make it civil. Also, it was mainly considered civil for the purposes of people overstaying visas, not people entering illegally.

Today's news that Trump's two tier justice system is no different than Biden's and now more talk of going easy on the illegals is making 26' & 28' looking more blue.

Trump's Sec. Of Ag is a whore for big corporations. Look up her background.
Been hearing she has been working on this for weeks.
SDV and other closet leftists will love this.

No amnesty but I would be fine with a regulated guest worker program.
We have that, even one specifically for ag workers. Employers not using it are choosing not to because it is cheaper and easier for them not to do so and instead hire illegal workers. H-2A Visa Program

They assume anyone who isn’t sucking off Trump is a liberal.
It is quite amazing how much of lemmings they have become.

Mate, I am in suburban Seattle this week. It’s little Bombay up here. Are these H1Bs or just smart Microsoft execs with money?

This will extend to construction and other domestic jobs. They will love Trump. You gotta trust the man. New voters!

This really would be the ultimate knife in the back and a definitive end of Trump/MAGA. Especially on the heels of the Epstein betrayal. I don't think Trump is this stupid so I'm going to hold my melt for now.

Why would he care?
Amnesty is a terrible idea.

Nah. He could still hold a rally and have thousands of people scream at him like he's a rock star. If he can keep that while shedding some voters who didn't see through his act, all while making the Chamber of Commerce types happy, he'll do it without a second thought.

WTF difference does Trump care about Trump/MAGA? He's the president. And he has to break this crazy MAGA shite anyway. He will get it done. And I guess MAGA people will pick up their marbles and go to where??
