Is he even allowed to do this constitutionally or does it just not matter at this point

Why is it the courts' fault that Trump illegally imposed tariffs? They didn't force him to deliberately misinterpret the law.

They're coping hard

I just think solar is probably the worst example you could have used.
I actually think its' one of the better ones. The tariff is really high. It's been in place a loooong time. And unlke something like steel or automotive production, putting together a PV factory is (relatively) low cost. And (ironically) the same government that tariffs PV, incentivizes demand for it.

The core base can never blame Trump for his own mistakes. Its how they are easily identified.

No it isn't

Remember after Katrina when FEMA handed out $1500 on Visa cards so people could get hotel rooms and food? Do you know why they stopped that before Rita hit a month later? Because all of the car audio shops were busy wherever the evacuees were. I can tell you for a fact that Circuit City posted record numbers in the car audio department because a friend of mine worked there. Bailey's audio in LC too.

Acting like there isn't a large segment of society, whose needs are already met by the Government, will spend an extra $2k wisely is very stupid on your part.

The demand is still very low, though. Even with tax credits.

And as I said, insurance companies depreciate them very fast. If your array is the victim of a storm, good luck getting anything even close to the replacement cost of it.

Some insurance companies won't even cover them and have dropped people. Especially in a state like Louisiana prone to hurricanes.

So we're comparing the average American that received this check to Katrina refugees?

Look, obviously some ghetto people will spend it on stupid shite. But they're not the only ones getting it. There will be middle class people with 140K a year incomes that live in white suburban neighborhoods getting this shite too.

Not all of them. Just the ones on welfare who shouldn't be on welfare and as a reminder, there are 42 million people on welfare so do the math.

All of them will.

If they are making $140K, why are they in need of an extra $2K so badly?

Even with inflation, that is solidly in the middle class.

Trump is maybe just stupid. Inflation is an enormous problem, and he is going to make it worse.

I don't support the check btw

But there are plenty of people with this level of income that live above their means

The statistics are pretty clear on that

Yeah, I get that. It was more of a rhetorical question

While many people might assume a six-figure salary would buy peace of mind, for a growing number of Americans, it’s barely buying time until the next paycheck.

That’s according to a new Goldman Sachs report that finds even top earners are struggling to stay ahead of their bills. (1) A quarter of workers earning more than $100,000 a year say they’re living paycheck to paycheck, and surprisingly, that percentage jumps significantly — to 41% — for those making between $300,000 and $500,000, and to 40% for those making more than $500,000.

Yeah..I figured you did

Which is why I think the whole rims and speakers thing is a bit over blown. Yes, that will happen, but the majority of this is going to go to people who are just bad with money.

Which highlights one of the flaws in our economy. If those people weren't bad with money the whole house of cards would crumble.

Ah. I get it now... You're familiar with the residential market. Commercial is very different, where things like accelerated depreciation is a feature not a flaw.

We can have different opions and still be friends.

To be fair, I wasn't even considering the commercial market, so egg on my face for that.

As a business owner, I can clearly see the depreciation value in that case, but we are also talking about two different types of depreciation.
