Inflation.

If the GOP has any hope of holding both chambers, Trump has got to wrap up Iran quickly enough to get the national average pump price at/below last year's number (current price: $4.33, last year at this time: $3.12).

If I'm wrong on this and the GOP is able to keep both chambers (especially, if they can make gains), so be it. With the media push though, I don't think it happens as they are going to make it the cornerstone of the nightly news, 60 Minutes, etc.

Isn't the election like 3 weeks away? I'm not sure there is anything Trump can do at this point that will make a noticeable change in inflation or gas prices prior to the election day.

I don't know about a tsunami, I think the depth of any win is going to depend on what sort of batshit crazy the Dems trot out, especially with the DSA candidates. The extreme socialism of that group has been pushing Democrats away, but no idea if it's enough to make them cross the aisle or stay at home in enough numbers to swing races to the Right.

He’s still part of the problem.

Inflation and mortgage rates are below historical averages. Price of oil per barrel is relatively low, yet gas prices are high.

All were lower in his first year... So his America first policies can bring it all down but his Israel first don't bring it up, right?

DeBoar doesn't explain anything. He is MAGA to the core and as soon as you call him on something, he starts calling you names....you know like Trump does when he is confronted with tough questions.

Prices can drop, if Iran is wrapped up in time. Even getting downward price momentum (getting it below $4/gallon nationally between now and then) would be a big help. The bigger the drop, the bigger the help but the opposite is true as well in that the longer it stays high the more likely it becomes that voters use it as supportive of the inflation stance and then vote the needs of their pocketbooks.

Not a great report for Republicans 3 weeks from the midterms. Inflation at 3.7%, gas and diesel climbing back up and the cost of oil rising again.

No October surprise for Republicans this cycle, just cold hard facts. Trumps policies aren't working, and Americans are paying for it.

Dang, all those liberals must've been really pissed under biden if inflation is really what they care about.

His inflation rates were astronomical. They lied every time about jobs numbers.

They just denied it existed and acted like everything was fine for years. They even chastised anyone who voiced displeasure over it.

Put up better candidates and don’t have the president act like a dick to most Americans

I disagree. Even if he acted today, it is highly unlikely that a significant impact would be noticed by the consumer before election day.

Most people already have their minds made up already.

Who do you think would be doing a better job as a president right now other than Trump? Kamala? AOC? DeSantis?

Would the rag head woman been exposed under your preferred President?

Just curious

Not to mention Early Voting is starting in a lot of states soon, as well as mail in ballots being sent out already. You can't really expect anything to change between now and Nov 3rd.

Trump has had 22 months to convince Americans his policies were good, and he's failed at that miserably.
