It's irrelevant. What the price of gasoline or oil or Doritos, or Mortgage Rates was/were in 1976, 1986, 1996, or 2006 is irrelevant to today since Trump specifically told us he was going to lower them. Trump was talking about having mortgage rates in the 3's and gasoline at $2.00 on the campaign trail in August of 2024. So, when you make definitive statements people are going to hold you accountable. Nobody cares what the price of oil was in the Carter or Reagan administration in 2026. Its fricking stupid to even bring it up/

Trump's actions have led to the increase in Gasoline, Diesel, Groceries, Mortgage Rates, Inflation etc. as inflation is not going down it is rising. What you were told is the price of a bag of Doritios in 1996 is irrelevant as it pertains to Trump and him saying he was going to 'fix' things like Gasoline prices, Grocery prices, Mortgage Rates, etc all have gotten and continue to get worse.
