How crazy is it that we have like a routine around this now?

People saying things like “Wow, they caught him. Usually they kill themselves.”

It’s bizarre and wrong that it happens enough that we can use the word “usually” and everyone knows what you mean on something like school shootings.

Trump fan shows up at Texas high school shooting scene wearing a gun and waving a giant flag

Shouldn't he get arrested for being near school grounds?

All you yahoos scream bloody murder about muslim terrorism in this country...and yet...we lose more people to Americans then any foreign murderers....and the beat goes on.
And You morons who are afraid of freedom will continue to beg to be enslaved.

The tree of liberty does not only require the blood of tyrants to flourish. Accepting that some innocents will die as a result is part of the price.

No one wants it to happen, but so long as the freedom to act, even to act to take the lives of others exists it will happen.

The only thing freedom demands of you is to be honest what the choice is. Many cannot do this

It was never really a secret, but at least some are now at least admitting it.

The shooter in this case was 17 yrs old and not legally able to purchase a gun. So what law or screening procedure would have stopped this shooting.....

That question would depend on how he acquired the gun

I don't think anyone believes that he should have been able to acquire the gun. Whoever helped facilitate that either through negligence or willful misconduct should be severely punished.

What Bill suggested in recent years would have addressed a 17 year old illegally acquiring a firearm?

I think the point is that if you can’t blame guns for shootings, then you certainly can’t blame video games, the media, or much of anything without being inconsistent. Not suggesting that you are doing so

Wonder if those shooters were law abiding gun owners before this morning.

You seem dangerous and you are likely to commit a crime. I've reported you to the FBI and suggested they take away your rights.

God speed, Federal Agents. Keep us safe!

Fair enough. That is never my argument. My position is that an individual is responsible, that we are focusing on the means rather than the perpetrator.

One problem is people will blame anything under the sun but the person themselves. There are reasons people why people do what they do and it's not games, music or objects like firearms that make them do it. Until we identity and address those issues, no law will solve this issue.

This is true.

If we had 800 million available and govt subsidies on ammunition so people could practice at the range, then someone would have been able to draw down on the person that did this and end the threat immediately.

But when you're going to blame video games you're just as stupid

But when parents are using them as baby sitters instead of instilling some kind of value system, it is a problem. I think the game desensitizes kids of the value of human life.
