Here is a list of animals in rank after humans for intelligence:

I've always wondered why animal rights activists never give a shite about the pig. Almost every animal gets a pass in the Top 10 by humans but #2.
I'm no Peta person and bacon tastes good, pork chops taste good, etc...
But if this list is true, damn, if dogs tasted like bacon, would we all eat our pet after a year of fattening on kibble?

2. Pigs
3. Dolphins
4. Parrots
5. Whales
6. Dogs
7. Octopus
8. Elephants
9. Squirrels
10. Cats
11. Owls
12. Rats
13. Falcons
14. Rhesus monkeys
15. Horses
16. Raccoons
17. Sheep
18. Crows
19. Pigeons
20. Orangutans
21. Sea lions
22. Baboons
23. Ants
24. Spiders
25. Squid
We rarely eat the Top 10 as humans but we consume pork like crazy. People are squeamish about eating Horse meat because the horse is so smart and have personalities, etc...Horses are apparently dumber than rats.
Pigs outperform 3-year-old human children on cognition tests and are smarter than any domestic animal, and animal experts consider them more trainable than cats or dogs.

if you google, you will find lots of folks have ordered lists of the most intelligent animals... and they are all different.
Not everyone puts pigs above dolphins, many have elephants much higher, etc...

Wrong, of course.
We as Americans rarely eat the top 10, but several in the top 10 are regular staples around the world, and a couple of others are still eaten regularly by people who don't give a shite about laws and such ("I'm thinking specifically of dolphins and whales here)
