Its not just children, these folks seem to view relationships too like a commodity.

Its almost like many humans have been dehumanized.

I'm sure it depends on how you're wired, but the transition to being domestic just didn't bother me at all.

But this weekend we'll grill/smoke stuff and have a couple of other families over and the dads will pound beers, the kids will play and the moms will gossip.

What are we supposedly missing out on? Going to a concert?

I can see (but do not agree with) there being reason for people or couples not to have children. That said, I cannot see how someone can be blind to the immense benefits of doing so.

The sense of pride I get when just thinking about the fact that I have two little bad arse sons is incredible. That feeling alone makes the whole experience worth it and it doesn’t even scratch the damn surface of it.

I mean, if you have to quit your job to raise your kid, and quitting your job means you can no longer afford your apartment, is it really THAT selfish to keep working your job?

Not following, you mean women working? I'm not sure where the selfishness is coming in.

I'm talking about women being persuaded by our culture that their value comes from work and entertainment instead of motherhood. The "kids would hold me back" mindset. Which I think a large portion of the time is a cope, not a deeply held belief.

Going with your kids when they're older is 10x more fun...

We were extreme about some things. We wouldn't let parents keep the kids while we went out, if we couldn't take them we didnt go.

Which is a bit extreme. But there isnt a parenting manual, so...

What a selfish outlook. What is the benefit of motherhood? The children and your love for them if the benefit. There is nothing greater and if you don’t have kids you cannot possibly understand.

What benefits were there in the past, when birth rates were much higher, than no longer exist today?

It has nothing to do with benefits and everything to do with shite culture promoting narcissism.

Mothers didn’t have to work. Now they have to work AND raise a kid. Many are opting to just work. It has a little to do with narcissism, but mostly it’s economics.

Dumb liberal women would make horrible mothers so it is just as well that they don't have kids.

She’s not wrong on this point. We should incentivize working women who reproduce instead of the ones we currently incentivize who won’t work.

It’s called “love”.

Interesting she uses the word “incentive”. She’s an example of the Like generation. You do something expecting something in return. She’s not a mom so she doesn’t know what motherhood is, not really, and because she doesn’t, she casually discounts it.

Having a child is about love & sacrifice. People who only hate (I’m oppressed & you’re an oppressor) & want (Like & Subscibe) cannot and will not understand.

Until then, it’s good that she & others with the same attitude don’t have children. They absolutely shouldn’t.

In a reasonable society we'd incentivize people to marry, have children, stay together and for women to stay home and raise their children, at least for some period of time. But we're too big and unwieldy to do that practically, and obviously half the country is deeply offended by the concept.

The reality is that a culture that promoted those things would benefit even those outside of the culture.

In intact families, men are pitching in more with household chores and raising families.

Technology has made a lot of household chores easier and take less time.

There's also significantly less child raising going on in most families.

This is because in order to afford to raise kids as a non-welfare leach, it takes two working parents to afford all of the expenses.

Having kids and trying to be a productive member of society is a scam.

Having kids that the government takes care of us also a scam. But the other direction.
